Lmfao. Hundred Waters is pretty damn good but way too ethereal to play a fest. Next stop is over to JF which is a could upgrade the lineup significantly for me set.

Dont fuck this up, MM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That's too bad Missed seeing him. Day goes like this:
1. Florence and the Machine. Good God, don't let anyone doubt why they headlined Glastonbury or Coachella. That show was just fucking spectacular. Florence dying on stage and in costume? Thanks.
2. Jack U. Thought this set was 3 or 4 times better than Hangout and ii think I had that set Top 5 or 6 there. Production level was exponentially better and they have come q long way. Also less douchey and hype mongery.
3. Hundred Waters - I really, really liked them. They are a band to see in a club. As I said before, they didn't translate as wel as they should have in a festival with competing acts since a lot of what they do is ethereal or even silent. I'm looking forward to seeing them in a club some day.
4. Joy Formidable. I thought they were excellent so I skipped Salva.
Otherwise I thought Yelawolf was underwhelming and also in some ways Modest Mouse though I liked both of them. Joey Badass with Soul Rebels was pretty good. Jauz was okay and was way more dub for this crowd than the last couple shows I saw. Solid B+ day for me.
So check this shit out. For once I actually went out after Voodoo :clapyell: Crazy ass funk sabbath. Like a stage full of black dudes crushing a shit ton of sabbath including Faeries Wear Boots, NI mFN B, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paranoid, etc. just fucking spectacular. Eric McFadden, Doug Wimbish, Corey Henry, Big Sam, Corey Glover, etc. Then they brought out Mike Dillon, Stanton Moore, Pete Murano and a bunch of other mfs. All I can say is, "Living just for dying, dying just for you. Yeah."
Pat down was seriously hardcore. So much so that they made me unzip my boots and pulled everything out my bag. Apparently me stopping adjusting my boot got me targeted to be seriously searched. They didn't find shit, besides my aerosol sunscreen, but it was the most intense search I've ever gotten, worse than BUKU by a mile.
Day was amazing, we camped out with a large group, far left of alter stage by the cone thing. Perfect view and close to stage all day/night.
During Florence I get a call from part of my group... Their car was towed. Needless to say, no after party anything. We had to get them to impound and then went home.
Several hiccups getting there and the crazy pat down all sucked but an A+ day other than that.
I'm wearing a batman onesie and Jeremy will be in a monkey onesie. Joywave and then alter stage camping. Same spot if posdible. Hit me up if you see us!!

I'll look for you. We usually do left side as well. Mike Dillon > Fantastic Negrito > E Collective > Clutch > Babes in Toyland > Jane's Addiction > (PiL, Lettuce) Ozzy \m/. I should be in my terrorist Costume for at least some of the day.

Today at Voodoo can be summed up like this:
Snuck out about 45min into Ozzy's set. Was pretty cool to see him, Slash, and Tom Morello playing together. Though jesus his voice was awful. Like, beyond the "Oh, its Ozzy, he's old as fuck so its O.K.". He even walked off stage during Iron Man because his voice kept breaking.
Damn. I'm trying to digest today. My wordy ass has nothing to say I mean today was fucking crazy. I'll figure this shit out tomorrow or Monday and throw that shit out there. Mother fucker. /Juanas
We never made it into day lol. We were about to leave around 4pm and it started pouring. We were so hungover/withdraw/whatever we couldn't even move until around then anyway. We went down to French Quarter just got back. How were the grounds and the rain and etc? Excited for Mau5 tomorrow.
Lol. Grounds were a complete disaster, but that's okay too as overall this has been acool Voodoo so far. Good running into everyone I've seen so far. Saturday....
I got in with some time to kill and wandered around for a while early. Then I went to:
Mike Dillons Punk Rock percussion consortium. It was literally 15 drummers on stage playing marimbas, bells, xylophones, calliope, drums etc. I only knew the one girl with the french name that escapes me and Stanton Moore. Mike said they all had been rehearsing for the last 3 days. Shit was crazy.
Next was a few minutes of Fantastic Negrito who was pretty entertaining. Then we walked by a few minutes of Joywave. Next stop was E Collective which was one of the only jazz sets, so I didn't want to miss that. It was sounding great but it started pouring. We ducked out under a tree for a few minutes before going back to the main stage.
Clutch played through the rain getting soaked but powering through that shit. They brought out Pepper Keenan and then Mike Dillon. Great, great set, and an excellent band I like seeing anyway, so this was a good way to start the rock part of the day.
Next was the full set of Babes in Toyland. This was my first time seeing them, and I liked them. Obviously they can still rock hard.
Went back to the main stage for a crazy ass Jane's Addiction set. I loved it, but it was full of rockstar ism, scantily clad dancers, chicks sky surfing from back clip pierces, lots of ramblings from Perry, etc. they varied the set I expected up a bit but ended up playing the old staples like Been Caught Stealing, Jane Says, Mountain Song, etc. I think a lot of people who are unfamiliar with their live shows were pretty surprised by the production work. Also Perry mentioned first meeting us at Tips. I've posted about it before, but I was there for that in the late 80s. Dave was his usual rockstar self. He played with his shirt off so you got a lot of closeups of his tattoo work.
i walked by the PiL stage to let Johnny Rotten annoy me for a little while. Then we went by lettuce, but it took a while for them to start so I went back to the main stage for Ozzy. I got there and Mr Crowley was on so I think that was the first song. He rocked through a bunch of Ozzy and Sabbath songs occasionally with Morello and/or Slash up there with his band. Ozzy's voice was a little scratchy, but I thought the show was fn great. I don't often get a full rock day in at a fest, including Voodoo, but this was an excellent day for me. Outside of my destroyed shoes and hurting feet, I'm having a blast.
We went out and saw Break Science live with Talib and all the Lettuce guys. Show was great but I was out of energy and should have just stayed home. Ugh. Time to lick some wounds.
FYI today is cancelled. They should be making an official announcement soon.
Lame
Agreed but it's completley understandable There were some good sets today, but judging by the way the park looked on the way out, it would have probably been a nightmare logistically. I was still planning on going regardless. It would be great if there were some free shows in and around the city but that's probably not happening either.
