Since my Chris Cornell prediction was a hit I'm also predicting Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket and Robert Plant as potential openers for the headliners as all of their dates lineup nicely. Sadly I have no clue who the headliners will be other than the possible ZBB rumor which I hope is false but his dates also line up right. Here's hoping we get a leak tomorrow so we don't have to wait until Thurdsay. I bought my Southwest plane tickets from CT today.

Not saying I want it and wouldn't be mad either but really could see them bringing Green Day. I would love Mumford and Sons as headliner and hopefully not zbb. Also would love to see if monsters and men, kid cudi, and Weezer.

Y'all need to stop with this Green Day bullshit talk. I don't care that they are due back because of canceling, you are willing it to happen.
I can't believe that Voodoo insider information is so far and few between this year. I usually have some insight by now, but my guy is completely unsure. Either the lineup is going to be balls crazy good, or shitballs bad. Fingers crossed for the former.

Shit. I struck out too as none of my occasionally semi-accurate sources have anything. I don't want Green Day, Mumford or ZBB either, but if we get 1 of them, I'll go see the edm headliner that night instead unless it's some euro house bullshit. After ruling Wakarusa with an outrageous set and their Gigantic Underground Conspiracy collaboration, I definitely want Big G back this year. You have to figure they would likely be at Hulaween (if anywhere that weekend) which is only 7ish hours. Multiple sets/collaborations could rain on that idea. But I want then headlining or subheadlining Le Plur.
Black Sabbath / Blur / Faith No More/ Whatever DJ we didn't get last year
As the Stones said in Orlando last Friday..."Ya can't always get whatcha want..."
I really don't see Blur happening at Voodoo or really anywhere in the states. He didn't seem to keen on coming here if the new album wouldn't sell out arenas. I see Faith No More, MR MS are very likely due to their touring schedule, Elle King is as well. Granted neither are headliners, but put on amazing shows and Elle King was at the same time as Royal Bloods so I would love to get to catch her. It would be easier at this point to say who is out due to them playing here.
Failure, RTJ, Manchester Orchestra, MMJ, Deftones, Death from above 1979 (wouldn't be here due to here last year and touring with Deftones), Incubus, Man Man, Diarrhea Planet and Brand New are all definitely out. All of that makes me super sad and worried that Voodoo dropped the ball on booking.
Should be deadmau5 at this point, he hasn't been in new orleans since voodoo 2010, iirc. unless he's doing his arena tour with the 360 stage or whatever.

I'm not much of a fan. I skipped his Bonnaroo set in favor of Run the Jewels/Flying Lotus which I'm sure were better based off of the small sampling of Deadmau5 video I've seen from 'Roo. Again, I don't hate his mixtapes, but I find his live shows to be boring.
What doubly pisses me off about trying to figure out some of Voodoo in advance is there really isn't that much carry over from the other Live Nation fests (or at least there hasn't been yet), so it's tough to pinpoint who will/won't cross with Bonnaroo, ACL or Lollapolooza (the other big 3 of Live Nation's festivals). You figure the jam will be limited, as Voodoo doesn't usually have much (though I could see Lettuce on the card at one of the back stages). But with all the crazy shit playing right around there with Riot Fest(s) and Fun Fun Fun, there is an opportunity for a lot of rock, punk and rap.

I don't think they dropped the ball. I think they probably get a piece of most of those shows anyway, since Live Nation sponsors some of those venues or hosts tickets (e.g. Champions Square). But RTJ just played Buku and Manchester Orchestra and DFA 1979 were at Voodoo last year. I wanted Deftones badly, but they're on a big national tour with Inucubs. So that just is (kind of like the Manson/Pumpkins tour).

Oh I know that DFA 1979 and Manchester Orchestra are out, I was saying who is definitely out due to touring or recently playing. I am hoping they didn't drop the ball, but will all the shows that are rolling through right now and not being driven to Voodoo, it just makes me concerned. I mean come on, they don't have the best track record with some of their decision making.
Yeah now all 3 together would be terrible. I was really hoping that rumor awhile back for sabbath would workout but I'm pretty much thinking not anymore. I don't even know wut to expect out of this year but pretty sure that will have faith no more in a spot.

Where are the rumors of the lineup coming out tomorrow coming from? I don't believe it. I want to though but Voodoo always gives advance warning to build hype.
Esteban- I'd def be down for Big G again, that set before NIN two years ago kicked major ass.
Vieux- FNM is basically the only act I'm convinced is actually happening.
Are you going to the Failure show at Republic? Longinus and I got tix. RTJ is playing Republic the Saturday of Bayfest/Gretnafest as well.

To add to the discussion of headliners: I guess Green Day makes sense as one headliner. The ZBB show could be a more rock oriented/collaborative one given their recent collaborations with Dave Grohl and Chris Cornell along with a regular tendency to insert multiple hard rock covers in live sets. Adding to that is the potential for Cornell being at the fest as a performer too. I could see the third main headliner as a rapper, edm, or a big rock name. AC DC seems possible but unlikely due to an early November Aussie tour start. Van Halen concludes their tour dates several weeks agead and without a Nola date. The Black Keys could fit as they are doing several major fests. Blur would fit too. The Ozzy show would be a great fit.

Not so far. My next few shows are Manson/Pumpkins, Pass the Good Fest for a day or two and then Mad Decent on 8/21. I've got to re-save a ton of money as Roo/Waka cost about $7k I didn't have.
I agree on the set prior to NIN. That was a great night for Voodoo (Saturday 2013 if I'm not mistaken). I didn't have a problem with Afrojack who I haven't seen yet, but I wasn't missing 9" Nails for that. Supposedly the Twitter world was saying it was Thursday, but I couldn't find anything on Voodoo's twitter, and I haven't checked Reddit since I left for Wakarusa on June 3. So maybe there is some stuff there? And correct me if I'm wrong, but Voodoo usually announces around Bonnaroo. They released the lineup last year on June 19th (which would be Friday). In 2013, they announced the 1st 15 (for the 15th anniversary) in April. Back in 2012, they released around June 22 which would be this weekend. So 2 of the last 3 years offer historical reasoning why they could be releasing this week (or possibly next at the latest). Unless ticket sales are way way out there, and they might be as festivals gain even more traction, I expect them to release the lineup in the next 2-10 days.
I just got confirmation that Ozzy w/ Slash and others will be headlining.
Get some more information on that if you can. That would be awesome and a little closer to Black Sabbath than Brown Sabbath was at Roo though they were still great as always. That's absolutely perfect for Halloween night (Saturday this year).

Will do if possible. My guy has never lead me astray with my info. He is looking into the lineup release since it is nowhere except in the twitter universe and not on the Voodoo twitter page. But Ozzy and Slash are definite, I am pretty sure that FNM is a lock too, but that wasn't 100%.

Could FNM headline? Wife and I were planning on skipping voodoo this year but if FNM plays she'll definitely want to go.

IDK if they would be a headliner. Probably pre-headliner on the main stage... I really hope I don't regret not getting LOA this year.
