Yea, I didn't hear that either. I guess Metallica could be a possibility and take Florence out as the shared HL.... I hope not tho, I'm not a fan of Metallica.
Actually, do Lolla & ACL always share a headliner? I've never really followed ACL prior to last year so I don't know and I don't feel like looking it up.

2013 had the Cure, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix and a few other overlapping. In 2014 they both had Eminem, Outkast and a few other overlapping artists, so on that little research I did, I would say that Metallica is very much likely.

Lolla and ACL generally have quite a bit of overlap up top, especially in recent years (C3 connection?). I think it's worth pointing out that ACL's lineup was stronger up top than Lolla's in 2013 and 2014.

I would agree with this statement, especially since one of my best friends moved to Chicago last year and I already had ACL tickets when Lolla came out and I felt that ACL was better and it wasn't worth selling my tickets to get Lolla tickets.
When golden voice announced that they would partner with HOF they said that foo fighters would be playing hangout this year as a U.S. festival exclusive show. Wouldn't seem very exclusive if they are booked for two weekends at ACL back to back.
I never have seen this anywhere either but it is really interesting.
Metallica should be a lock based off what I've heard.
God, I hope not. I was mostly just thinking out loud when I said that. At least they have opposed headliners. Hopefully the other one will be more my tastes.

Fuck that shit. They were great last time I saw them at Voodoo 2012. People may not like specific albums after And Justice for All, Black album, etc.. Or they may not like metal or whatever, but booing a Metallica add is about as weak as repping for Electric Daisy Carnival. Sorry, but damn.

It was a joke. Mostly because I was hoping that the big name this year would be someone I like. I am not booing Metallica. I don't like Metallica, but I'm not booing them. I'm booing that the #1 on the bill is going to be someone I have zero interest in seeing.
I gotcha.. Your posts are pretty good, so I had to have read it out of context. I see everything except opera and country and western though the so-called alt-country at Hogs for the Cause this past weekend wasn't bad (Toubab Krewe, Wood Brothers). My thing is there just isn't enough rock and hard rock at big or non-boutique festivals anymore with the exception of Voodoo, Lolla and ACL. So i have a tendency to defend that even if it's some shit I don't like such as AC/DC at Cochella.

Did you see J Roddy Watson and the business at Hogs for a Cause. I didn't make it out due to life, but I really like them.

Unfortunately not. I left in the middle of George Porter and Rinning Pardners because I was sun sapped as fuck. I haven't seen them yet and it was high on the list, but I had to jet. I'll see them soon enough. Jabco was there with his ole lady so hopefully he could chime in.

Didn't you talk to someone. I too have heard Metallica from my whispering birds. Plus, they're extremely logical since heading Lolla.
Yes. And while I am not a Metallica fan I would check them out as long as there is no crazy conflict of headliners. What do yall think Acl chances of KENDRICK are?

Was gonna go out, but then I saw the parking situation at City Park and said nahhhh. Plus $30 just to get in and then countless more to feed me delicious pork. Wood Brothers are a great listen. Anyone going to the Dr. John show coming up?

I was a fan of Metallica in jr and high school, but not much so after the Black album. I actually saw them in '92 and again at voodoo in '12 and they put on a great show still (even if Lars killed Napster). This girl next to me said that are 'Classic,' which made me want to punch her 19 yr old face. As far as Kendrick, I think it will be him or Drake, but if we are pulling from Lollapalooza then you have a better chance for The Weeknd instead and maybe no hip-hop/rap headliner. I heard Drake early on from my friend that sometimes gets scoop, but I think he said that Drake would be a Lolla too. So what does he know?
I heard rumors they will change it up a little next year and make Friday super cheap. I was going to get the 2 day pass for $80 with $45 in hog cash back to you, but I couldn't go on Friday. So I went the other route. Luckily I knew two guys cooking on two different teams and was able to get in on Fleur De Cue's $25 cup for drinks and was also able to try some oysters with bacon and pork, Lebanese ribs and some champion whole hog. Then I had the best rib I ever ate (pork) with peach heat sauce over at Holy Smokes. Good time. Not hitting Dr. John, but I do have Papadosio coming up in a couple of weeks at Tip's, Floozies, Pink Talking Fish, Turkuaz, Lettuce, Slayer and Hatebreed/Slipknot this month in town. So it's going to be rocking April (plus The Who-> and Panic at Jazzfest).
Sorry about the threadjack ACL'ers! I'm probably going to pick up a 2nd weekend ticket, but I haven't decided if I'm going to go to that or Bear Creek yet. If ACL and Voodoo have a lot of crossover, I'll probably just go to Bear Creek.

I can't go on the second weekend of ACL this year. I have for the last two, but it always interferes with the book closing. I am going the first weekend, even though my best festie girl bought the second weekend. We will see what actually goes down.

Shoot I wish! Nah I'm just workin for the man this weekend. Gunna have to wait til acl and hope they're there. My group is thinking about doing both weekends this year if the lineup supports it.
Would be fantastic. Would they be a headliner or second tier? I can't tell. I picture them in a Lorde placement.
Also, esteban, I just watched 20-30ish mins from Metallica's Glastonbury set and I have to admit, it looks like it'd be a a great show. (Songs were Enter Sandman and Seek & Destroy) Depending on who they're conflicting with I would probably go check that out.. You can't deny a great live show, even if the music isn't your cup of tea.
I am also surprised by Kasabian's live show, but that's neither here nor there.

For sure. When I saw them, they took Green Day's spot at Voodoo when Billie Joe Armstrong went into rehab. Their tour ended a few weeks earlier, and we got a pretty cool set also with Hit the Lights, One (great bombs/war sequence live), Master of Puppets, Fade to Black, Sandman, Seek and Destroy, Battery, For Whom the Bell Tolls, etc. that's the only time I'd seen them, so it was pretty cool.
