i would say it's unlikely. pretty low billing for a project he's involved in. although if he weren't involved at all i wouldn't be surprised to see them on the 12th line. time will tell.
This year's trend I don't get: bitching about artists who have played the fest recently and who tour heavily (eg St Vincent, Tame Impala)
If you didn't catch these artists last year or the year before or somewhere else on their tour, you can probably catch them somewhere in 2015.
Its about seeing them in the bonnaroo environment. I live in South Florida. Not a lot of groups make it down here for one. I have seen Tame Impala at roo already, I was just hoping for a bigger stage or night show. The only place you can see Tame Impala at 3am possibly.. do you get it now?
so i started checking out bands i haven't heard yet and holy shit i just fell in love with the growlers. I've seen their name many times before and am pretty pissed i never checked em out till now. also, odesza is fucking awesome. at least i found 2 new bands thanks to this lineup.
The growlers are great. If you like them, check out every artist on the austin psych fest for last 3-4 years or so.

Depends on where in s flo you live, but it's probably within driving range of Miami or Tampa. I'm not gonna speak for where you live, but south Florida ain't exactly the most isolated part of the country.
Sure, Bonnaroo shows can be special. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. Tame Impala played just a year ago and wouldn't be playing a night show anyway if they came back.
So yeah, I still don't get people clamoring for repeat acts who tour extensively.

Started working from the bottom of the undercard up last night, YouTubing 1-2 videos/live performances for each with Jesioneka. My favorite find so far was watching Madisen Ward and The Mama Bear sing and record together on their acoustic guitars.
are you kidding me that song is probably the greatest end of a party song ever to exist if you have been hammered in a circle of your friends screaming out pianoman i feel bad for you. I cannot think of a better way to end bonnaroo than piano man.
To each his own man. Though in all my days of partying I've never known of anyone to crank up "Piano Man." While I can see how the chorus without any context would seem like a great party song, it's about a bunch of people with broken unfilled dreams escaping their lives for a brief moment in a dive bar with no real way out. Perhaps it's my old age which makes me appreciate the downer aspects of the song more than someone who's younger.
I mean yeah 1am when everybody is at their rowdiest and there a ton of people over your not ganna play piano man. To me it's like closing time or wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald it's a ending song that you gather your stuck eat closest friends around you and belt out the lyrics while all your not so close friends slowly leave
I know COS says David Byrne is apart of this, but it says no where on the lineup biography for Atomic Bomb. Can someone help explain?
From Wikipedia:
The Atomic Bomb! Band are a touring supergroup who play the music of Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor. The core group is music director Ahmed Gallab and his band Sinkane (composed of Jason Trammell on drums, Ish Montgomery on bass and Jonny Lam on guitar), Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip), Pat Mahoney (of LCD Soundsystem), Money Mark (of the Beastie Boys) and Jas Walton (of Antibalas).[1] The group has also featured special guests including David Byrne (of Talking Heads) Damon Albarn (of Blur), the Lijadu Sisters, Joshua Redman, Kele Okereke (of Bloc Party), Luke Jenner (of The Rapture), Ghostpoet, Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange / Lightspeed Champion), Young Fathers, Mohatella Queens, Andrew Ashong, Zap Mama and Scritti Politti.
That's literally the entire article.
OMG the dudes from young fathers & blood orange have worked with this group!? christ, I really really need to dig into atomic bomb.

one of the bars in my college town would crank up piano man at closing every night - everyone would get up on chairs and tables and put their arms around each other and sing along while they finished their drinks. it was the best.
the trend followed through to fraternities and other house parties as a kind of universal "the party is over" but as a one last hurrah.
I love piano man and all of my piano man memories.

We ended a wedding of close friends with a Piano Man circle in October. I foresee lots of Piano Man Circles on the What Stage lawn come Sunday. I don't care if it's cheesy, I'm looking forward to it with all my Bonnabuddies!

My Bonnaroo group is going to have to do this. I think it would be a perfect way to cap an awesome weekend on the farm!

Ours was always Journey - Don't Stop Believing. If you weren't singing, you weren't drunk enough.

i REALLY want to do austin psych fest one year. i just found out you can camp there too which is always a big sell with festivals for me.
You know you can turn them off? Makes things so much better.
you have to turn them ALL off though. Some people have decent sigs that are not annoying. It's like using a hammer to kill a fly.
I'm fine just sitting over here bitching about it ;-)
