Just bought a 3-day pass after weeks and weeks of daydreaming about it and then putting it off for some reason. I'll be headed there with one of my great friends from Iowa. Now for the fun part. I'm looking to make the weekend way more awesome and complicated for myself. I'm already pretty excited for Chance, Future Islands, The New Pornos, RTJ, Caribou, Panda Bear, Todd Terje, Mac Demarco, Parquet Courts, Jamie xx, Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, Tobias Jesso Jr., Mr Twin Sister and Viet Cong.

Was wondering the same thing. Not going to the fest because I got stuff going on all weekend dring the day and a wedding Saturday but I'd check out an aftershow on Friday if it lined up right.
How To Dress Well + Lower Dens, 10:30pm Mourn @ Schubas, 11pm
Got my ticket for Protomartyr, thinking about seeing Ex Hex on Friday.
So no after shows from wilco, chance, chvrches, Rtj, caribou, Jaime xx, ilovemakonnen, Freddie Gibbs, or single mothers. Nice. I wasn't planning on going to the festival but an after show was expected.

Thinking about snatching a Sunday pass, whats the deal with tickets for this? Do they usually sell out or can I wait and get them for cheaper closer to the festival?

This online schedule setup is incredible jackassery.
Mr Twin Sister 2:30 - Blue Stage Shamir 6:45 - Blue Stage Sophie 7:45 - Blue Stage Vince Staples 3:45 - Blue Stage Vic Mensa 8:45 - Blue Stage Future Brown 2:30 Green Stage
Really wish RTJ and Todd Terje weren't overlapping
not sure about aftershows as of yet. Would like to go to Panda Bear and Viet Cong but I don't think I can swing the Panda Bear show and I've just seen Viet Cong twice in the last month and a half. Their show will probably be largely the same, as awesome as it is
Ex Hex on Friday would be fun but I think that show is already sold out? idk
Officially going Sunday with some friends. I haven't listened to any of the acts that are playing before Freddie Gibbs so if you have any suggestions let me hear them. Otherwise I think my schedule should go...
Freddie Gibbs > Courtney Barnett > Jamie xx > Caribou > Todd Terje > Chance. Will I have to leave Caribou early to get a good spot for Todd? Also I read that the Red/Green stages are perpendicular, is it difficult to position yourself in a way to have a good view of both, or will I have to plan on sacrificing a good view of one in favor of the other?

Check out single mothers, Bully, Viet Cong, Waxahatchee. Even if you don't like Viet Cong on record, check them out live. So good.

We're doing exactly the same fucking thing on Sunday. I'll be there all three days, but that is precisely my schedule.
Two things. First, you absolutely should go to Viet Cong. They're gonna rule. I'd say Waxahatchee because her music is pretty good but her live show is pretty shitty the two times I saw her. Perfect for Pitchfork in the early afternoon, but generally not interesting at all. Her drummer is really good though. Shoot me a pm and maybe we could meet up for a show or two. I'll probably go to Bitchin' Bajas too because they'll likely just play two songs that last the whole 45 mintues.
Second, Todd Terje is remarkably unknown and he is playing at the same time as arguably the most popular rap duo in the world right now who are playing right before and right next to one of Chicago's most agreeable rappers for his homecoming performance closing out a music festival. I'm gonna say you'll be just fine leaving Caribou at the end. Especially since that means you have a whole half an hour. The whole Green/Red stage thing is awesome in my opinion and will make much of Saturday and Sunday incredibly easy. You can basically just chill there and bounce back and forth and have pretty great spots for either stage.

That Sunday lineup is so badass. It's getting harder to resist making it up for Saturday and Sunday. I must quit looking at the lineup. Gotta remember ACL and FFF aren't that far away. Fuck! Why couldn't FFF get Todd Terje and the Olsens?
