I saw a user in another thread request this so I figured I'd post it. My early vote goes to Gary Clark Jr. simply because I'm not familiar with most of the other guitarists on the lineup.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

In no particular order --- *Gary Clark Jr. (by default) *Jim James! -- My Morning Jacket (surprised no one has said him yet) *John Scofield -- Medeski, Scofield, Martin, & Wood *D'Angelo (RnB Jesus can SHRED) *Jesse Johnson -- D'Angelo's guitarist (formally of The Time) *Kerry King -- Slayer *Taylor Goldsmith -- Dawes *Britt Daniel -- Spoon *Adam Granduciel -- The War on Drugs *Ryan Young -- Trampled by Turtles' fiddle player (felt he should be in here because he actually was a guitarist of a speed metal band and fucking incredible at the fiddle) *Chris Thile -- Punch Brothers' ringleader and mandolin player (not a guitar player, but one of the greatest mandolin players ever) *Laura Jane Grace & Adam Bowman -- Against Me! (maybe not technically 'great' players but awesome punk rock guitarists) *Benjamin Booker (Jack White fans look no further to Booker. as blues-punky as it gets since The White Stripes) *Malcolm Brickhouse -- Unlocking the Truth (this kid absolutely blew my mind when UtT was on Colbert)
I'm not a Hozier fan, but I wouldn't call him a bad guitarist. He does exactly what's required of his music, which isn't much. Just because he never plays anything virtuosic or or impressive doesn't really make him bad. Just nothing remotely special or interesting. But I know it's super fun to hate on him here.
Also just add Taylor Goldmsmith from Dawes to your list and you've pretty much nailed it

It's Scofield.
Alert: incoming unpopular opinion.
I love GCJ, and the live album is great.... But I don't get the hype about his chops, he's great but it's some pretty standard blues that you can probably catch at your local bar tonight...
