What about the Arctic Monkeys? Got news back in December that they were writing a new album. There is still a chance that it could come out in the fall, but next year is more likely. I did hear, however, that they could be going out on tour in the fall of this year. Thoughts?

They would def be a headliner.
No doubt. Probably be our #1, but they would be totally worth it. Would love to see AM and Kendrick as our headliners.

Now, what about Gorillaz? They just announced a fest in June and looks like they are gearing up for a tour. It sounds like they could be touring the US in the fall.

I got lazy, so I only did the top 12. How about this?
LANDMARK
MUSIC FESTIVAL
For The National Mall
Mumford & Sons • Kendrick Lamar • Lorde
Flume • Queens of the Stone Age • Run the Jewels • Vance Joy The Shins • Gary Clark Jr. • Tegan and Sara • ScHoolboy Q • The Avalanches
Mumford's 8 NA dates running from May 12-26 have been billed as their 'only NA shows of the year', including dates w/ u2, festivals, and 3 stand alone headline dates.
Well, they just announced a festival date in California in June, so I wouldn't rule them out as anything is possible.

Still them staying here until September is pretty unlikely. I bet the number one is The Weeknd.
The Weeknd - Tom Petty ATHB - Weezer - The Shins - Schoolboy Q
When I said The Weeknd at #1 I don't think it would be over a legacy act like Petty. One of the few instances he'd be number two. That nitpicking on my part aside I would probably go to this.

Weezer and The Shins, as good as they are, would be a pretty boring pick for pre-headliners. Lorde & QOTSA is the obvious way to go. Or someone like Alabama Shakes if you wanted a better match with Tom Petty

i dont think that the legecy rule is completely set in stone anymore. Bob mothefucking Dylan was just #5 at firefly. I think that we'll see more mega pop stars getting #1 Billing over legacy acts except for a few guys (Macca, Waters, maybe Elton John) as the years go on.

That billing is entirely appropriate given the kinds of venues Dylan plays. He's never been a crazy-big live draw and no way he could sell out a baseball park, which Petty has done on recent tours.

The Weeknd - LCD Soundsystem - Lorde - The National
Put Spoon on the main before The National, early sets from Alvvays, Whitney, or Pond, with Future Islands closing the side stage, and baby, you got a stew going.

Don't think Chance is possible. He's playing two shows in D.C. and Baltimore back to back in June. I'd think people would get kind of sick of him.
I know his show in Pitt sold out. I'd say the rest did as well. I'm not saying he's booked but those shows are 3 months before this fest. I wouldn't say he's out.
Kendrick Lamar - The Killers - Alabama Shakes Pretty Lights - Modest Mouse - Cage The Elephant Spoon - Mac Miller - Teagan & Sara - Girl Talk - Tove Lo Portugal. The Man - Milky Chance - Cold War Kids Danny Brown - Jagwar Ma - K. Flay - The Strumbellas

Phoenix just announced a world tour, is going through the southeast/mid-atlantic and they are missing DC. Also have a large gap from Sept 2 to Sept 29. Feel like they are coming to Landmark.

When do you think C3 will announce something regarding the festival? At this point, you would think they would at least tease something or be active on social media.
