When do you think C3 will announce something regarding the festival? At this point, you would think they would at least tease something or be active on social media.
If I were to guess I'll say stuff will start acting up a week before the lineup drop. So the end of the month.
The Killers - A Tribe Called Quest - Phoenix - Haim The Flaming Lips - Run The Jewels - Cage The Elephant Father John Misty - Nick Murphy - Matt & Kim - Phantogram Girl Talk - Bleachers - Sylvan Esso - Robert Delong - Mutemath
Yeah billing is a little off there. Phoenix would headline, especially over Tribe. Flaming Lips would be billed below RTJ and probably Cage. For reference they just had a sold out show in NYC at Terminal 5. Less than two weeks before that RTJ had 4 sold out shows there in a row.
I like the positivity here, but are you guys completely convinced that this thing is actually happening? It's hard for me to believe with the complete lack of any social media presence, and a lot of no-replies to people email inquiries.
I saw FJM's tour release today with no DC/Bmore dates and it got me thinking about this. He's in Philly on 9/15 with open dates on 9/16 and 9/17. Young The Giant is at Merriweather on 9/16 too so they could be in play for Sunday if that ends up being the weekend this happens.

I think we're largely basing it off of the fact that the ticket page on the festival website says "Stay tuned for 2017 Ticket information"
I do think it's odd we haven't heard anything, but I'd give them another couple weeks before we start losing hope
It looks like Landmark Fest WILL be returning after all!
I e-mailed C3 Presents yesterday to ask if Landmark Fest will be happening this year and they responded "Yes keep on checking this website for more information: www.landmarkfestival.org/tickets/"
Therefore, I'll guess: Chance the Rapper- Lana Del Rey- The National- Father John Misty
I think the fest is slated for the last weekend in september every year which is why they didn't have the fest last year. So it would probably be sept. 23-24, the weekend after Music Midtown(sept. 16-17), and they haven't released a lineup yet either so i think we have some time still.
Just remember folks, Chvrches was billed fourth in 2015. They could change things around, add a third day, or invest more money, but I wouldn't get too crazy with mocks.

Hopefully we get some combination of Radiohead/Arcade Fire and The Weeknd/Kendrick Lamar, but it'd also be cool if a more classic rock act like Bruce Springsteen or Pearl Jam filled the rock headliner slot. Radiohead's last tour date is 07/19, is there any reason they wouldn't play this fest or book a fall American tour? They haven't hit a lot of major American markets since A Moon Shaped Pool came out.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

I'm assuming that's an incredulous response, but I don't see what's so unrealistic about these candidates. Pearl Jam played the inaugural year of Made in America, Radiohead plays venues ranging in size from 15,000-25,000 capacity (this is a 30,000-40,000 cap fest) and obviously Arcade Fire is within their price range since they played Panorama last year. Drake has to cost as much as either The Weeknd or Kendrick, so we know they're within Landmark's price range. Seems realistic to me, except for maybe Bruce.

As much as I'd love to make fun of you (and really, I'd love it) who knows what direction this festival is headed in based on a sample size of one. I'm anticipating it'll just be heated leavings from all the other C3 fests, but maybe they'll wile out and book Radiohead and Kendrick.
I honestly thought they booked an incredible lineup in 2015 for a festival of their size and price. Even if they bumped up the ticket price a hundred bucks this year by booking Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar, it'd be cheaper than every other east coast festival. Have faith, dude.

If my memory serves me correctly, I read on Radiohead's subreddit awhile back and somebody said that they tried to book one of the members' other band (Don't remember who) for the fall for their college, but they couldn't get him because of a tour commitment. Also, I saw that somebody said that they heard from a staffer at an arena that Radiohead was performing there in the fall. It's shocking that they haven't played D.C. yet on this tour. Let's hope they play Landmark.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
So... Am I crazy to think that Gorillaz might be in play here?
No. It's certainly a possibility. Many sources said that they wouldn't be playing any U.S. festival this year. Welp. They were wrong. With Outside Lands, it certainly gives them a chance. It sounds like they could be touring the U.S. in the fall.

Saw FJM's dates too. It is a bit fishy that he would skip D.C. He could always add a date, but it looks like the fest could be the 16th and 17th.

Would love to see Pearl Jam. I would think Kendrick would cost less than Drake.

I think they'll definitely stick with the rock and rap headliner duo.

Take this with a grain of salt. Somebody on the Music Midtown subreddit said that they heard that Bruno Mars, Mumford & Sons, and Blink-182 were headlining MM. In terms of Landmark, Bruno is out with his two shows at the Verizon Center in September, I can't see Blink-182 headlining, and Mumford is a serious possibility. I think Mumford will headline Landmark with Kendrick filling in the rap headlining slot.
