So the turntable stage sounds like a fancier version of the Lockn' set up which is awesome. You can see twice as many bands if you don't have to be trekking from stage to stage. My band choices are going to be determined by my own preferences as well as the kids for this fest. Friday will likely be Wolf Alice, Against Me, The 1975 and Jane's Addiction with more research needed Saturday - MMJ, Walk the Moon, Decemberists, Huey Lewis, maybe JJ Grey Sunday - Florence, Head and the Heart, St Paul, Eagles of Death Metal
Time to let the kids do some research and let them make some choices.
Centennial has more space for side-by-side stages than Atlantic Station had, with an extra 50 feet or so. And where did they say that Shaky is going to have a turntable stage?
They only had four stages that year, though, instead of five. So I'm guessing this is their way of keeping "five" stages while actually only having four. I loved that setup at Atlantic Station, by the way, because there was only like five minutes between bands so you could stand in one spot all day with basically non-stop music (and the line-up was perfect for my tastes that year). A turntable stage could bring that back while avoiding taking up more space with another full-sized stage.
Doesn't really matter that they had fewer stages at Atlantic Station. The main stage setup there was a little over 200 feet long and the north end of Centennial Park is closer to 300 so they definitely have enough room for that. I've never been to a festival with a turntable main stage but at 420fest there's 10-15 minutes in between sets and I don't think Shaky would want to do that, they're more organized with their set times.
The stage setup in 2014 was pretty dope, I stayed in the same place in front of the Piedmont stage for about 3 hours Sunday and was pretty close for ESMZ. I liked being able to watch bands from the other stage too. If there would have been grass there at all I would have really liked the venue, but all the concrete made my back hurt.

Just to pass the time...top 10 acts on your list to see at SK
1) My Morning Jacket 2) ATDI 3) Baroness 4) Bloc Party 5) Janes 6) EITS 7) The Sword 8) Beach Slang 9) The Kills 10) EODM
Left out Florence and Machine and Foals because they are on my list for Hangout the following weekend, and that lineup is weaker than this one to me, so I am gonna wait and see them there. Flo will probably be unopposed on Sunday night here so it probably won't make much difference. Is they are opposed at Hangout I will see them here.

I've been sending my friend some stuff to check out for this lineup. I sent him a few Slowdive tracks and he wrote back, "Wow, I like this. It's kind of like Beach House but with a woman singing."
Oh hai guyz, I'm giving away some tickets too! And the best part about my contest is, I can personally guarantee that Dave Maynar's bitchass won't win!

Says Hop Along and Speedy Ortiz are together for May 14th. They won't be added to the festival for Saturday as Saturday is full and they also just played last year.
If they release the late night shows at around the time they announce the schedule it might be a good thing, except for the waiting another month part. Sunday is going to be full of conflicts for me so if Frightened Rabbit and EiTS are both playing late night shows then I'll definitely go to one but I'd want to wait until the schedule is released to decide and won't have to worry about tickets selling out.

I'm wondering where EITS would play since Frightened Rabbit is at Terminal West? Maybe Center Stage or they're using the Tabernacle?

I've been exploring some of the names on the lineup that I wasn't familiar with, and so far the one I think I'm most excited to see for the first time is frightened rabbit. I also get the sense that they would be good in a small night venue rather than an outdoor festival so I may be in for a late night show!
