I'm really leaning towards pulling the trigger on the VIP presale.
I figure a conservative estimate of 7 beers a day at $10/ea is saving ~$210. Could probably eat ~$25 in the free snacks saving $75, so that's close to $300 on beer and food alone. Throw in the bathroom and viewing areas and it seems like a great deal.
Worst case, if I can't end up making the fest it should be super easy to sell the pass to someone considering it jumps about $250 in price
I never was the one with the actual wristband, so I never saw the bar. Monie might recall.
Newcastle, which I had never had before, some Cider and something else that I can't remember.

It was all the same beers offered at the fest.
Newcastle, Dos Equis, some shitty beer that had a shot of tequila in it but didn't taste nearly as bad as you'd think, and maybe one more? The VIP bar I *think* also included liquor. I remember wanting to get a drank drank, but was on a mission to bring back as many drink drinks as possible first. Then I never went back for my drank because I got distracted/ paranoid that the bartender would catch on.
But yea. VIP is totally worth it. We had it for one night and we took full advantage of it. You can take up to 3 out with you so you can share it with non-VIP friends, which also makes it totally worth it. Because sharing is caring.
Someone brought up a Pavement which would obviously be perfection, but it made me think of how great it would be to get a late afternoon Silver Jews show... Just saying

Couple things:
How long do you think these presales will last on the market? I see that it is a certain amount of tickets, not a given amount of time. I am just curious. How long did they last year? Do you guys expect it to last longer/shorter?
Did anyone have success last year in selling their early bird ticket last year if something came up/they were unimpressed by the lineup (crazy, I know)?

They didn't sell out last year. They ended when the line up came out which was mid Janurary I think. I doubt this will change.
Do you guys think Glassjaw playing Atlanta in March rules them out for Shaky Knees? I am thinking so, which is a bummer. Also, Melvins are playing Atlanta in April so it rules them out..
