Crowds were unnapreciative at every show. It was like these people had never been to a concert before. Brittany Howard was visibly pissed off and didn't do her encore cause no one cheered worth a damn after she shook the earth with her voice. No one sang fucking piano man. PIANO MAN GOD DAMNIT. IT WAS SILENT WHEN BILLY STOPPED SINGING AND EXPECTED US TO JOIN IN. I want to blame the heat for the lack of enthusiasm but it was an issue at night clearly too. I won't be back to roo unless it someday reverts back to what it was.

Well if what you're saying is true I think nobody was singing along because nobody gives a shit about crusty ass Billy Joel, not because Bonnaroo has changed. It was just a dumb booking.
Lmao wait bruh we're the same age. How can you know what Bonnaroo was if you were in elementary school during those times????

Uhh, I was in front of the soundboard and everyone sang for Piano Man. I'll post out recording this week and let you hear it and then see what you say. It was loud.

Brittany couldn't believe the crowd. I don't know where you saw her getting pissed at all. They all seemed to be having an amazing time up there and extremely grateful.

Agreed. I was across the aisle from Will and it was the same in my section.

You and I attended a different Bonnaroo this year. Sorry yours sucked. Mine was a lot of fun.
But in response to the thread title, I was bored as shit, grabbed a blanket and some food and watched Game of Thrones with 500 of my friends.

My thoughts every year when returning to inforoo. Some people are just bad at enjoying life. If the first thing on to do list after roo is to bitch about how much it sucked, you're doing it wrong and you can camp with me next year.
I will admit that I am a billy Joel fan... But I found his set to be boring and left after about an hour... I was in the bleachers, and from what I could tell there wasn't very much crowd participation...

Not sure what the hell you're talking about. Regardless, you probably should stay home next time.
I'm still pissed off. The first 45 mins were killer even with the deep cuts but it seemed like he lost it somewhere in there. Overheated maybe? Usually he tells little stories, anecdotes, jokes, etc and he stopped that altogether.
I don't know what happened but getting cheated out of 45 minutes of a headliner (he did 8 fewer songs than when I saw him in Louisville last year) who happens to be one of my all-time favorite acts left a really bad taste in my mouth. Especially because I had gotten so close.
Not to mention the fucked up timing of the fireworks.
I loved the set, but the lack of encore was just weird. I also don't understand why he wouldn't do something different for Bonnaroo. Cover something cool from another artist, bring on a guest, something than just put it on on Billy Joel autopilot. I just think he could have brought something new out of his bag of tricks.
I also think that if the headliner is going to be a more mainstream older skewing artist, they need to offer something else for people that aren't into that. The number of people around me that came to have a conversation with a Billy Joel concert in the background was super annoying. Give the people who aren't into it somewhere else to be. Same issue during Mumford's set too.
