This is disappointing. Though, I will not miss getting trapped in the amphitheater. The hammock maze was getting a bit ridiculous
My thoughts as well. Last year it got a bit excessive I couldn't find a spot for my hammock Friday morning. Ended up putting it up all the way in the back and didn't even get to use it most of the weekend because other people were using it. With them expecting a much larger crowd, it makes sense to ban hammocks, or at least suggest that they are. I'm sure some will still slip through the cracks in the end, but if everyone could bring them there'd be a fight over space and so many out there it'd become a hazard once the sun went down.
Hammocks are great at the amphitheater, but not in excessive numbers. Save them for the smaller festivals as much as I will miss relaxing in them during the day sets.
mannnnnn, I understand why they are banning them and agree it's a good idea, but i just wanted to chill in the hammock with my friend. Oh well, looks like hammock chills will only be happening at the campsite this year.

Weather should still be fine, but was looking forward to some highs in the 70s and lows in 50s. Looks like we're going to be getting mid 80s and high 60s.

Crazy that Tennessee in June and North Florida in late October are pretty much the same.. at least this year.

Yeah, i was wanting it to get cold (but not quite as cold as last year) but i can settle for 60's-80's

This year is going to be huge.
Someone from my group went out last night to secure the spot we camped at last year and it was already taken. The spot wasn't even close, it was way out west of the bat house field in the forrest. There's reports on social media that all the spirit lake camping is full already.
Somebody on facebook claimed 17,000 tickets sold FOR THE PREPARTY. He claims a silver wrapper employee shared this with him. If that's true, that's nuts.

Other people reporting 45,000 tickets sold. That's way more than any wanee I thought that was over suwanee capacity. If this is true it's gonna be pretty crowded. Definitely getting to primus early

Yep, guess I'll be skipping all of SCI before Primus

This will be my 1st Hula, so no idea what to expect in general, but are any of you vets worried about infrastructure if the attendance increases are true?

Honestly, I could see them having problems, but in don't think they will. People will be camped further away, Porto's will get dirtier faster, shows will be more crowded, but I think it's really going to come down to whether Silver Wrapper (or whoever handled the staffing for the event) was able to recognize that they were going to need a lot more workers. I think the grounds can handle a huge number of people. However, they'll need a lot more workers than usual to keep everything going smoothly if the reports are true.
given past attendance, it seems much more likely that we're looking at 10k-15k at best. What would have caused the fest to have an astronomical jump over last years 8k?

Acts like Pretty Lights, ODESZA, Chance, and even Primus have more of a mass appeal that reaches beyond the typical hippie fest crowd. I remember seeing an article from when the lineup was announced stating Hulaween was on its way to becoming the Electric Forest of the South.
Fuzzy is exactly right. I honestly place 95% of the blame on PL, ODESZA, and Chance. 2% is placed on Primus and and the remaining 3% of the blame goes on the festival simply kicking ass, so people told their friends about it. Seriously, I wish PL and ODESZA just weren't at Hula because they would've sold a lot less tickets and I swear to god, if there are a bunch of kandi kids, I'm gonna freak out and demand that they boycott EDM

This may all be false. Someone else on reddit claimed he had an email from the production company that said 15-17k.
One of the promoters posted the following on reddit just 2 days ago "Hula will be the biggest show of the year at Suwannee in 2015. Not sure of numbers yet but it is well north of the 10k I mentioned earlier this year."
That sounds like high attendance but not as high as these dudes on facebook are claiming
I had no idea that odesza had that kind of pull, and it seems like PL is around enough that you don't have to go to an SCI dominated fest to see him? ....yeah, i hope the finger pops don't outnumber the bowls.

Actually, PL hasn't performed ALOT of shows since 2013. Consequently, if people see PL on a lineup, they get real excited. Lots of kids I know in Gainesville that had never been to Suwannee lost their minds when they saw PL was playing Hula. I'm honestly sick of him. He keeps stalking all the fests I go to. This will be the 4th time I've seen him at a fest. Honestly, I could care less though because all the Kandi kids will camp out for PL during Primus and after Primus, it'll be nice to just lay on the hill in the back of the crowd and gather my thoughts while listening to PL and watching his lighting.

I think the 45k # is reached by adding the expected numbers for each day together (Approx 15k/day).
Not sure where the high preparty numbers are coming from but they could just be BS.
They have gotten GZA to agree to portray Don Cornelius as part of String Cheese's Ghoul Train set. Should be a great time.
Don't tease me
They announced it on the Facebook page. Seemed more like something drunk RZA from Roo's Hip Hop Superjam would do. I'd expect him to guest in a set or two also over the weekend.

What an incredible weekend! Possibly the best festival I've ever been to. From the music, to the art installations, to the natural beauty, to the attendees, everything was amazing.
Does anyone know where to find any full set downloads? Either audio recordings or rips from the jamon broadcast?
