Any board regulars are lurkers who may not be Suwanne regulars, or who haven't been to this fest: DO ITTTT!!!! It's the best festival venue in the country and this festival in particular is amazing
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
This is gonna be amazing, I can not wait. I always look forward to this but they seriously put out a lineup much better than I ever could've asked for. I'll some of y'all on the rail at Primus (and Chance)

It's awesome, but I don't personally think it's better than Mulberry Mountain. I also haven't been to Gorge Amphitheatre which looks to be pretty outstanding, so I'm not going to put Suwannee over that. But it's still a top notch music park. There's the sketchy l e o situation though. We didn't have problems, but we knew some people who had issues last year and had a friend run into some issues at their tent this year at Aura in a sting/setup. He did okay, others in the area were not as lucky.
Nonetheless, it's going to be a giant party and one I would not otherwise miss if it weren't for Voodoo. I just wish they'd go to the weekend before or weekend after so I could attend.
If you haven't been, it is an absolutely amazing festival grounds. Camping is shaded with oak trees and plenty of room, river runs at the edge of the Festival, so you can hang out on the sandy shore of a natural spring-fed river. The people are absolutely one-of-a-kind, carry that same positive mentality. There is a slight police presence, but they are not the least bit harsh or rude and are surprisingly kind people.
Nope, it is always and included and the ticket page says it is included in ticket price this year as well.
Then what's the Saturday and Sunday camping ticket that is $185?
That's for Saturday & Sunday only (at the gate)...Friday isn't included. The other prices are for Fri-Sun ($269 at gate). Daily tickets are the only ones that do not include camping.
So this morning, I mentally put this on my calendar, but I just bought tickets to the three day MMJ run in San Fran two weeks earlier. It's possible that won't pan out, but if it does, it will probably put Hula off the table.

Been on the fence about this fest for a few years, but this line up has officially pushed me into the "yes" category. This will be an excellent mid-year bridge to Bonnaroo
I completely disagree with both of you guys, but hey, that's why we're all different. I love Spirit of Suwannee Park for what it is. We had an outstanding time there for Bear Creek last year. I don't personally put it in the same category as Mulberry which I've been to twice (SOSMP only once). Hey, I love Mardi Gras World for what it is. And I love City Park. The only two venues I have been to that I'm not much of a fan of is The Farm at Bonnaroo and Fair Grounds for Jazzfest (otherwise it's fine for horse racing).

I haven't been to a ton of venues, never been to Red Rocks, but The Gorge is the best place I've ever been to see live music. Talk about live music moments, the first time I walked over the crest of the lawn and saw that view I'd seen in pictures so many times... jesus its indescribable.
posted this pic before but i'll post it again. me and my wife when we first got there:

Oh man, that is stunning. Being from Florida, if you show me a view of/from a mountain, I automatically become amazed because anything not flat is amazing to me, haha. My SOSMP > everything was mostly a joke. I do absolutely love the Suwannee but I don't consider it untouchable like many locals do. I will say though, I've been to the Suwannee many times, but none of the other fests are as good as Hulaween in terms of atmosphere. But dear lord, you've just be careful what state of mind you're in when you enter the Spirit Lake art area, haha
Damn Postjack. I'm like you in that I haven't been everywhere yet, but I've been to a lot of places. That's just a spectacular shot of (presumably) you and the ole lady on the edge of that field. It's somewhere I'd love to go, but Sasquatch is always on Memorial Day which is always (or has been the last 10 years or so) spoken for. One of these days I'll be up there in the coastal ranges and pay that place a visit. My ex-brother-in-law always shouts for Telluride Blues and Brews Festival which also looks like an outrageous place to have an outdoor weekend.

I love the place, the lighting, the vibe, the old hoe-down music hall, the forest stage... It's a pretty awesome place and only about a 6:30 drive (plus the hour to switch to Eastern Time). We only went last year, and for a super small festival like Bear Creek, it was awesome. I think that's the smallest one of the main rock fests they have (Aura, Purple Hatter's, Bear Creek and Hulaween). What I find super cool is the level of jam you get there at any of those 4 fests. Clearly they must take pretty good care of the bands to have them continuously coming back. Everyone I met there (workers, maintenance people, staff, etc.) were super nice.
