We've only been there once, and it was for Bear Creek. And we did VIP for that. What you got was a very close campground to the festival entrance on the North or East side. It was about a 50-100 step walk there. You got a front spot at the field stage (whatever they called that one) and then an uphill private area for the Main Stage/Ampatheatre. That was a strange location, but one of the festival organizers told me that they had some sound engineers out there, and that spot had the highest sound integrity which is why it's positioned there. It's a bar with some outdoor tables, fire pits and a massage area. Massages were free at Bear Creek, but obviously you have to tip your server. We had access to a couple of other areas including the cafeteria by the field, and all the VIP bars had discounted drinks and beer (were like a dollar or so cheaper than regular). You got some indoor bathrooms, complimentary shuttle service and a swag bag of a poster, t-shirt and laminate. It was pretty cool, and I think we only paid about $300 each for presale. Was it worth it? It's hard to say. The camping spot was great, and the seating areas and viewing areas were cool. But I wouldn't say it was a must do unless you want the additional security and privacy.

Also, with Bears Creeks getting cancelled, it'd be really nice to have Zach Deputy there.
Every time I try to see Conspirator, something happens to stop me - rain, sometimes sleep, cancelations, etc. It was 2013 when they were on the lineup, right? I made a big deal about how I was finally going to see them and nothing was going to stop me. Then the biggest festival storm of my life rolled in and everything was canceled. Still no Conspirator
So the moral of the story is, wish for Conspurator all you want, but I'll be there, so don't count on actually getting to see them.
I've seen them twice, and they are great if you dig on some jamtronica that isn't afraid of lasers or bass drops along with the rock and jam. They were excellent at Buku 2014. They were also great this year at Wakarusa. That was a Thursday night set at Satellite Stage at 8:45. That was a great day. I saw Moon Taxi, Dopapod, Conspirator, Umphrey's, The Floozies, Gigantic Underground Conspiracy (which was also f'n great and obviously includes Conspirator), Minnesota and Govinda. That was a great kick off Thursday. I think Florida's Greenhouse Lounge is somewhat similar though maybe not as musically aggressive as Conspirator.
I did miss them at Hangout back in 2013 when they did the Thursday pre-party. But I heard that was great too.
I like your style. We need to meet up next time I come down to Nola for a show.
Thanks esteban! we ended up doing the zombie vip with a cabin and meals, saves us hauling all of our stuff halfway across the country. I was told the cabins are right there next to the mainstage just across the road. I am pretty damn excited and now just need to wait for the perfect price for a flight into Jacksonville and we will be set! I would really like to meet up with a bunch of you and have a few drinks!

I pass those cabins every time I go to the main stage, they really are a great location! My group camps pretty close to that spot, y'all are more than welcome to stop by and have a few drinks by our campfire!
If the weather gets bad or its too cold we are having cabin parties! We will stop by for sure! This will be our first festival at the park and I couldn't be more excited. From everything I've read its all an open area outside of the music areas. So there shouldn't be a problem going from different camping areas like other festivals. If only the cabins had hot tubs! Then there would be a real party! Can I rent a hot tub and pull it next to my cabin? haha

That's a sweet deal, but I know that wasn't cheap. Haha. Sometimes you just have to do it. You won't be disappointed. Like I said, I'd be there were it not for Voodoo. And I actually like Hulaween's lineup way more than Voodoo's (overall). I might try to hit Aura next year money permitting with everything else I'm going to, or if not, I'll be there for 2017.
1 g a person for 4. Not that bad when you compare it to other festivals vip. Its also my girlfriends birthday on the 29th so we splurged a little bit. Just trying to find 2 friends to come along with on the journey! We've been to the last 3 Electric Forests and wanted something a lot smaller in attendance numbers and this just works out perfect. Its all the music we love and looks freaking incredible from videos. Being able to travel with only our bags is going to be so nice for a change. No planning for a large group at a festival! This is honestly my favorite part. Its going to be a real festival vacation!! The excitement is so real

Word. I don't have very much going on for now. I might go see Kill the Noise at the Republic tomorrow. Then I have Smashing Pumpkins/Marilyn Manson a week from Monday. And finally, I'm 95% going to go to Pass the Good in Pensacola even if I go alone (could be just me, could be me and another 10 people). Word on that was there were a few additional big time DJ's they were adding to the card which already has:
Zach Deputy Mad Violinist DJ sets Greenhouse Lounge (who I love) Govinda Ill Gates Captain Green Nadis Warriors Run DMT Spankalicious Post Pluto (been wanting to see) and about 50 more acts
And that's supposed to be $75 for the whole weekend until the day of show. We threw down at it last year though it was criminally underattended. We didn't care and held court until 6am anyway. Heh. Govinda for the 5am set maybe?

They will deliver what you want. It's not completely a "free for all" but you can pretty much do what you want there with discretion. FWIW, Wakarusa VIP is the happy medium (20,000ish people) between E Forest (40k+) and SoSMP (5-15k). It runs about $775 a person, but you get free beer and cider along with front row access for the 2 main stages, shaded camping and some other perks. Don't sleep on that in the future if you like this lineup, because it's pretty similar musically. I'm going to go to Electric Forest (VIP) and back to Waka VIP next year for round 3 in 2016. I did Waka back to back this year with VIP Bonnaroo, and VIP Bonnaroo can't wipe Wakarusa's ass. The only thing you get better at Bonnaroo is bigger name headliners. There was literally 0 other things with their VIP that compared with the same thing at Waka. The campground was worse. The farm doesn't hold a candle to the mountain. The booze is cheaper. The crowd is way less people checking off their bucket list or being seen and way less douchey (not to say Bonnaroo is all that douchey, but it can get fratty). No LEO issues, etc.
I think we might jump on Waka VIP next year. I use to think people were crazy for doing vip and I am finally one of those VIP only people haha. I need some roome to strech out and chill. getting close and having elbows in your side and all that are a few years behind me!
Flying Lotus in the SOSMP would be the only way to top the otherworldliness of Primus being there. I honestly don't care about additions at all because this lineup is already so stacked, but I'd kill for FlyLo. Ratatat and Father John Misty would also be amazing (FJM would be a perfect show in the afternoon)
So I saw it a few days ago but im just now listening to it and wow....... I now have to see ratatat and they do not have a south east date on their tour. Looks like ill be going to columbus ohio in September.

So does anyone else frequent the r/hulaween subreddit? It's picking up over there and getting pretty active, if anyone else wants an alternate place to discuss this festival

Laggy, for lazy people like me and people who do not have the time in their day to add another social media site to their list, like me, could you keep us up-to-date on any important news and up updates. Thanks.

I'll tell you that the only real news ATM is that one of the guys from Purple Hat said they're currently considering adding a 4th stage

Nice! They have plenty of options for another stage, I think BC ran 4 stages, maybe 5 at one point. Town Hall stage is indoors and would allow more late night acts, which I think is what most of us want? A traveling stage during the day would be cool, but I always seem to miss it. Porch stage might get a little bit congested and I like having that area open. I like more stages, it means more acts, which means more options, which could go either way. it could cause conflicts, but they have always seemed to do a good job of putting different options on at the same time in what I think is a way to limit those conflicts.
