So does anyone else frequent the r/hulaween subreddit? It's picking up over there and getting pretty active, if anyone else wants an alternate place to discuss this festival
Laggy, for lazy people like me and people who do not have the time in their day to add another social media site to their list, like me, could you keep us up-to-date on any important news and up updates. Thanks.
Absolutely. This is my go-to spot for ongoing discussion. It's just nice to have r/hulaween as an alternative, because there's several conversations going on there simultaneously.
I'll tell you that the only real news ATM is that one of the guys from Purple Hat said they're currently considering adding a 4th stage
Nice! They have plenty of options for another stage, I think BC ran 4 stages, maybe 5 at one point. Town Hall stage is indoors and would allow more late night acts, which I think is what most of us want? A traveling stage during the day would be cool, but I always seem to miss it. Porch stage might get a little bit congested and I like having that area open. I like more stages, it means more acts, which means more options, which could go either way. it could cause conflicts, but they have always seemed to do a good job of putting different options on at the same time in what I think is a way to limit those conflicts.
According to a purple hat promoter on r/hulaween
It would be the music hall. While we also love having no overlapping sets, we think a music festival of our size should have 2 choices at a time. This formula can cause folks to miss stuff they want to see, but it also allows us to invite many more deserving regional and up and coming artists. Stylistically, we'll offer stark contrasts if there is a choice to make. Using teh music hall also will open the possibility of having music after 2am.
Probably just me, but the music hall is the only thing I dislike about sosmp. Don't get me wrong, it's nice they utilize it for music, but I just prefer outdoors to indoors for music. Especially when it's as beautiful a venue as Suwanee.
My dear god Sufjan would be heaven, his dislike of playing festivals makes me automatically say it won't happen though. But, man, it'd be amazing if he did

If Sufjan plays Hulaween, I'm going.

*I say a marching band, because I love marching bands. It comes from those Friday nights, under the lights.

I agree and it can get packed in there, but when it is cold out and you want a warm spot to see a good show, that music hall is a nice spot.
So from what I found, artist by day: Thursday Joe Russo's Almost Dead
Friday (some artist could have listed first day of fest) SCI×2 Primus (most logical) Railroad Earth (website specific) Papadosio (wedsite specific, show on Saturday elsewhere) Sister Sparrow &TDB (website specific, show on Saturday elsewhere) Turbo Suit (website specific)
Saturday SCI×3 Pretty Lights (website listed Friday but when pulled up on google calender it says Saturday) Chance (website specific) Odesza (website specific) Slightly Stoopid (website list 31-1 but in NO on 1st, probably late night) Sam Bush Band (website specific)
Since STS9 is Sunday, does that mean Primus must be Friday? PL or Chance can still be the Friday late night main stage act and primus could still be Sunday with sts9 but I just dont see that happening. Any other thoughts.

As I predicted before: Primus headlining main stage Friday, Pretty Lights headlining Saturday, and STS9 closing the festival in the amphitheater Sunday.

He wouldn't be the one making the decision for me. What, would Hulaween bring him in to help keep Halloween's evil at bay?
The excuse is back to back (hopefully and to back) Clutch, Jane's Addiction and Ozzy Superjam with Geezer, Slash and Morello on Halloween night. I obviously love Hulaween's overall lineup way more than Voodoo, but it's Halloween. I'll see all you hulahooping hippies some other time at Suwannee. Heh. Maybe Aura 2016 if I can afford it.

I actually like Voodoo's lineup better. The one group that is really the reason I'm going to Hulaween for is Primus. I've seen literally everybody on the top of Hulaween's bill multiple times (except Odesza, who I'm not crazy about.) The only difference is that it will be the only time I've ever seen any of them at SOSMP. It's just much cheaper for me to go to Hulaween and all my friends are going to Hula.
I'm just hoping Janes Addiction and that Ozzy supergroup tour near me or play a different fest that I'm attending. I personally think Janes Addiction would be a great fit for Shaky Knees.

I would think if it is as stated above, Tribe would be sunday late night main stage. I dont see whoelse would get that mainstage slot after cheese plus Tribe at the Amp sounds packed and like a nightmare, maybe not if they are the last act of the weekend.

If they do it the same as last year, the final Sunday show (final show of the event) would be in the amphitheater from like 10:30-12:00. The last main stage show would be right before that. And you shouldn't think that the amphitheater stage is too small for STS9 because I've even seen The Roots play that stage and the a Roots are bigger than STS9.
To answer your question on how it could be scheduled, here ya go:

Yeah. I remember we were completely backwards on Voodoo and Hulaween in all those aspects and respects. One or two of my kids may end up going to Hulaween specifically for the lineup. I'll have them get in touch with cmack if he and they end up going to figure **** out. Primus should be great. I've seen them twice in the last couple of years, and they were great of course. You won't be disappointed.
Same thing in 2013 on saturday when the fest was closed at the amp by emancipator but had sts9 on the main stage. Plus look at the act that closed th amp last year. They are the thursday headliner this year. Last year didnt have anyone of tribes fan base, following , cross over likes, etc on sunday. Also was there a stage bigger then the amp for the roots to play on? I thought the amp was the biggest stage for bear creek and fewier attendees. Plus Tribe played the amp before but thats also because it was the biggest stage at that particular fest.

Oh yeah, I saw them on the 3D tour and I saw them doing the Willy Wonka tour last year, both of which I loved. I'm extremely excited to see them in the swamp!!!

I didn't that's how it went in 2013 and I completely agree with you on nobody having a comparable fanbase to STS9 and yeah, the amp stage was the biggest stage at BC, but that doesn't change the point that I was making, which was that acts bigger than STS9 have played that stage. I was just thinking that they would want to give STS9 the longest/latest slot. But I guess they could certainly have Lettuce or Griz close the event on the amp stage after STS9 closes down the main stage.
And I dont think they will have sts9 at the amp while griz plays the main stage. I just think thats a stretch.
Yeah, actually, if they do have STS9 close the amp, I think would have Lettuce close the main stage and Griz play the amp before STS9. Honestly, you've mostly won me over on the topic, but part of me just thinks that STS9 will close the amp

Any particular reason you feel this way? And yes!!!!! I am beyond excited.

No particular reason, it was just the first conclusion I came to, so it's hard for me to think of it scheduled differently, though I do agree that STS9 closing the main stage is more likely. Good to hear you're going! I am as well. So what do ya say we wager a beer on whether STS9 closes the main stage or the amp?

Sounds good. Im hoping we get another addition that takes that main stage spot though, something like ratatat. A man can only dream right.

When do we get the 2nd line up? I'm so torn between this and Voodoo. Voodoo doo is in the lead due to proximity, so a badass 2nd round may push towards a dif decision.

I don't want to be negative, but I highly doubt that we are gonna get any big name acts added for multiple reasons: 1. they don't really need to because tix have sold extremely well thus far. 2. We already have more big names on the lineup than. Hulaween has ever had before.
But, god damn do I hope we get FlyLo as an addition! (Ratatat would probably be my distant second option)

So it looks like we know it's Chance on Sat and STS9 on Sunday.
I'm wondering how Primus and Pretty Lights will fit into the schedule. I was banking on Primus Fri and PL Sat. But now I'm not sure how scheduling could work for Sat. SCI typically does 3 sets on halloween, and there's typically only 1 main stage sub-headliner following SCI. Pretty Lights has to have a main stage slot. I'm wondering if chance will play the ampitheatre between SCI and PL. I doubt he'd play before SCI's 3 sets, as they would end up being an afternoon slot. Maybe they'll have SCI play earlier, or extend latenight times.
Maybe it will turn out Primus plays sunday, PL plays friday, and Chance is sat night sub-headliner. But based on past schedulign I doubt they'd have a name as big as Primus on sunday. And I don't think they'd make Chance the only big sub-headliner for a night. He's aweseome but I'm unsure how well he'll go over with the suwanee crowd. I'm actually really surpised he's billed over STS9 for a festival like this.
