Thank you for pointing out the one decreased statistic. These stats (seat belt and speeding tickets especially) give a good indication of the tactics used by THP for pulling patrons over this past year. As was said above, there's no way to justify a pattern, but it does give a glimpse into what occurred on the highways.
I'm not gonna get all pro-law and order, but I don't have an ounce of sympathy for people getting seatbelt and speeding tickets. Even if there's nothing in the car but the Gideon's bible you should wear a damn seatbelt.

It is hard to believe that people don't wear seatbelts. It boggles my brain.

New Hampshire does not require anyone 18 or older to wear seat belts. Silly libertarians.
Where were all these undercovers and/or regular cops? I saw a few on horseback but they were either stationary or directing the runners for 5k. From what I saw it was a corn eater's paradise without any obstacles in sight
Edit: I was camped in the very back of Pod 9 camp Dr Egon Spengler
not even the cops want to be that far from centeroo

There's a difference between "Live Free or Die" and "Live Free, Die, or put yourself in a vegetative coma from a traumatic brain injury that will place a tremendous burden on your loved ones and society or put yourself in the position of being projected like a missile from your vehicle and causing grievous harm to others." I don't like to talk in absolutes, but you will never see the latter on a license plate.

Everything but the walk was kickass about that soot for the record

or motorcycle helmets
Louisiana didn't have motorcycle helmet laws for a blink of an eye when Mike Foster was Governor. He rode a motorcycle and didn't like those pesky helmets when we was riding his hog.

If you're comparing anything between states, New Hampshire just doesn't count. My sister lives there so I've been there enough to know it is sort of a strange place. A beautiful and friendly place (albeit a very white one), but a little different than I'm used to. "Live Free or Die" is more than a motto, it is a mantra and a way of life, and in this case death.
I would consider moving to southern New Hampshire because it is so beautiful, socially liberal and free, and reasonably priced for New England while being close to the Boston metro area, except that I'm not going to pick up and move from one place with crappy winters just to go somewhere else with arguably worse winters. And I don't know if I can trust people don't support seatbelt laws. I guess we have different ideas on what constitutes freedom.
I once seen a Free Stater argue with a Manchester cop about jaywalking, then nearly got hit by a car 10 seconds later while jaywalking
I feel a bit crazy when I say this, but jaywalkers piss me off when there's a perfectly good crosswalk 50 or 100 feet away. If there isn't one, then okay, go for it, but otherwise use the damn crosswalks, you terrorists. Be predictable on the road, whether driving or walking, and you probably won't die there.

It was more crossing the street opposite of the lights. The woman was going across an avenue which had the green light, and was arguing she could go if no cars were coming. Which she assumed incorrectly.

I hate poeple who ignore the crosswalk signs, especially when you can only turn on green and are at a light that lasts three cars total, and tourons just do what they want and you have to yell at them and be like, asshole, you don't have right of way. Motherfucker.

New Hampshire is awesome so fuck you guys. I should also point out that you must wear a seat belt of you are under 18. 99 percent of people I know choose to wear their seat belts. If you had to deal with the constant presidential campaigns you'd want to drive to the nearest highway liquor store with no seat belt either. Live Free OR DIE.
Can anybody that did get arrested or caught with something illegal shed light on exactly what happened to them?
Ticket and let go?
Handcuffed and taken to jail?
Slap on the wrist and told don't do that again?
From what I've read/heard....there's been a lot of talk about the increased police presence. And the possibility of a scam job going on in the camp grounds. And I've been keeping a pretty close eye on it all because of the issues with Bunk Police (and subsequent Dance Safe issues at Electric Forest this past weekend) and aside from the obviously inflated second hand accounts and people bitching because they got caught at doing what they were specifically told not to do...I've only heard of one outright ridiculous instance. Everything else has been completely normal and by the well known books.
Bummed to say this was the first year my car was pulled aside for "random search" at the gate. They only found my buddies knife which they took and gave us no hassle over. Hilarious tactic they used though, so while they were searching our car an additional officer comes over and gets almost in our faces and says very abrasively "We know its in there just tell us where it is..... if you tell us where it is we can help you but if we find it your going to getting arrested". We said we weren't sure what "It" was he was talking about but we were sure it was not in our car. So he gave us a "fuck off" kind of smirk and walked way. I just thought it was funny the type of shit they pulled to see how we would react. Sorry guy, I'm not 15 and know you're full of shit

That's exactly the tactic the horsey guys used to try and search our camp. They actually tried taking pictures of us and started making fake radio calls with gibberish code until I called them out on it. Finally the black shirts showed up and said they horsey guys were wasting everyone's time

Elections are non-stop in New Hampshire. Even I think it's overkill. Swing state + first primary + 400 state rep seats + 2 year governor terms
Last week I seen an attack ad against Maggie Hassan - and I'm not sure why. Her term doesn't end this year, and as far as I know she hasn't announced she was running for the Senate.

Oh trust me, she's running for the Senate. She'll lose, because she wants to get out of NH state politics ASAP.
I loved our previous governor but she makes my head hurt. Being an independent in NH is painful watching the parties fight all the time. At least in other states there are a few months down time.
Also I believe NH has the largest representative body except or Parliament, India, the Congress and one other. It's a fun fact, but very inconvenient when you actually have to vote.
Maybe I'm just being optimistic, or blinded in partisan nonsense - but I think '16 could be a strong year for Democrats. As much as I like Bernie Sanders, Hillary looks to be unstoppable. Frank Guinta's time in Congress might finally be over, I just hope the Dems can find someone better than Shea-Porter for the 15th time. Hassan might be a big enough of a name to unseat Ayotte, and that's if Ayotte doesn't end up getting picked for VP (which is a small possibility).

It's possible that you're not whom pollsters would call "the norm."
Sanders is important (and weirdly, right now, so is Trump) because they force the other candidates on their side to address their...shall we say "unconventional" stances on various issues.

Yes, you're 100& right. Like Hillary's stance on everything, which is less of a stance and more of a spin move or other means of avoidance. I want to like her, but she consistently makes that difficult. Don't get me wrong, I think Jeb is a front runner for good reason but he tends to be the same way. That's the thing that everyone can respect Sanders for, he makes it clear where he stands if you ask him, or even if you don't. And don't get me started on Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum or Rand Paul. Folks like Ben Carson, Rick Perry, Carly Fiorina and Scott Walker have no chance and aren't worth talking about. OMG, there's so many of them!
Trump is a "grotesque buffoon" (as David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, told Charlie Rose), but he's taking the national media heat off of all the other GOP hopefuls, for the time being. He has no chance of winning a nomination, but the attention is what he's after, not the oval office. And he is certainly getting attention though much of it is remarkably negative.
This is probably going to shape up to be one of those hold-your-nose-and-pick-the-least-stinky-turd elections for me come 11/2016. Yeah, I read too much internet crap, and worry way too much about it. It may come down to: Bill Clinton in the White House for 4-8 more years, circle yes or no.
EDIT: Wow, sorry for going so far off topic. I'll continue this elsewhere. I didn't even mention Chris Christie, George Pataki or Bobby Jindal. Man I wish there were more Democrats ready to go for it.
