No NYC date and they have the weekend open.. Although they were just here in September. We'll see!
I'd be kind of surprised since they're playing Firefly two weeks later. As it as, the two festivals will be sharing M83 and CHVRCHES (and quite possibly Of Monsters and Men). There was a decent amount of overlap in 2013 and 2014, but very little in 2015.

Not really any rule that they can't have overlap. Last year it just worked out that way.
plus there weren't many artists they would've wanted off of Firefly. Aside from Paul, Morrissey, and Modest Mouse, there wasn't much to be desired on that lineup

Really just Paul haha. Already had Modest Mouse in 2012. If you ask me, Gov Ball has always blown Firefly out of the water. Consistently better lineup, better crowd, better food. Only thing Firefly does better with is beer options.
So if you had to numerically rank both of their 2016 linueps, how would you?
Considering. I've always wanted to go, plus I have friends in NYC I'd like to visit.
Who are some realistic acts, that would make you decide to pull the trigger?
oh boy. not sure all of these count as 'realistic', but all the same: Justice, D'Angelo, Portishead, Frank Ocean, Robyn in any form, Sufjan Stevens, Massive Attack, Underworld, and for shits and giggles, Carly Rae Jepsen.
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

Only 1.
not quite the answer I was expecting, but I'm sure the Kanye/Macca joint set will be a lot of fun!
