They were totally in the right to cancel. I think where everyone fucked up was the make up shows in the city. Only like 4 acts ended up booking shows last minute, despite the fact that sooo many venues were available. But really the main thing that bugged me is that these shows didn't give priority to govball ticket holders. I would have gone to prophets of rage if they guaranteed me that my wristband got me on a different line than the general public.
And wtf thanks Gary for the 2 second notice of your make up show. I would love to go tomorrow : (
I think any venue bigger than Music Hall, Rough Trade, Warsaw, Bowercy, etc. requires too much lead time in terms of getting union workers, load in, etc. Surprised one of the mid-tier acts (Chvrches, Chet Faker, Death Cab) didn't try to book T5 but it might be tough to staff that venue up on short notice. Have to get security, bar tenders, coat check, etc. on like 5 hours notice. Surprised no one tried to play the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn though.

Nothing really of consequence in the AMA. Had no choice, safety of fans, really gutted, will continue to be the same even with Live Nation's backing...

There was one interesting little tidbit..quoted below:
TeamGovBall Yes, we are working on a festival in October. We feel as though the fall could use a festival event. More info on that soon. TR

Anyone else still waiting on their refund? I know they said within 21 days but I'm seeing everyone on reddit got theirs a few days ago so I'm getting a little worried.

I haven't received mine yet, but I'm not expecting it for at least another week. Also, only two people on the Gov Ball subreddit have posted about receiving their refunds.
Surprised they didn't do a pre-sale for the Kanye MSG shows for people with 3-day or Sun passes. Not like many would have gotten tickets but would have been a nice gesture.

They have nothing to do with the MSG shows; neither does LiveNation. Those shows are being promoted by Time Warner.
Looks like refunds are now being processed for people who purchased 3-day passes. Just received an email from Eventbrite last night.
Awesome to hear. I did email them, and they said that everyone SHOULD have refund by no later than the 27th.
Also did they let you know exactly how much you'd be refunded for the 3 day pass? Was just curious how they would calculate that. I guess just 1/3 of the entire ticket price? But would they include the service fees and tax? Or would they just give you 1/3 of what they say a ticket costs.

I think they did include service fees and tax. I remember paying $330 total for my 3-day pass, and it looks like I'm getting refunded $110.
