Yeah CoS posted an article about the reunion today that claimed that after Panorama fell through LCD decided to do their own NYC show
They tried. Spent late October through Xmas trying to untangle the red tape stopping them from playing. Once or twice even thought it was a done deal and theyd be on the lineup. It's a bummer.
But they have a few pretty great back up options. The main one they are pursuing now would be a very awesome get. One of my favorites, and if it happens, probably their only festival appearance of the year. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for sharing stuff like this. Find it more interesting than actual lineup leaks tbh

Sia just announced her first live show in like 5 years. Fingers crossed she's on the Govball lineup. If so, where do you think she'd land on the poster - Top 6?
They took the crossword puzzle off as their "pinned tweet" at the top of their twitter page. I wonder if they've abandoned clues for that and are moving into the lineup announcement.
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

That lineup has me pretty excited for GovBall's. The undercard is pretty solid, and some acts I expected would be booked higher like omam are rather low IMO.
Either because of playing govball in previous years or prev bookings, like 14-15 of coachellas top 25 won't be playing govball.

Ahhh got me so excited! Goth, does this mean they were able to finalize that third headliner in time, or are they just gonna go the blurred name approach?

I assume the answer to this question is why he put "maybe" underneath the gif...
Bad News: So the artist I have been teasing that they were trying to get because LCD fell through was Arcade Fire.
They are spending the year held up in New Orleans recording a new album. Don't think anybody has really caught on to that, so I guess I am spoiling the fact that a new Arcade Fire album is on the way. The plan was for them to play a one off show and sample the new material. But unfortunately, it's not happening. They don't think the new stuff will be fully formed in time. Don't want to commit. I'm very sad about the whole thing.
Good news: The lineup will be out on Friday. No blurred name.
man that would've been awesome excited for the new album and lineup though. still a decent lineup?

That's a bummer. I figured they're working on an album given their 'album every 3 years' habit, but if they don't think material will be ready by June, then it might mean the album's not out until next year which is too bad.

Well holy shit.
Jeremy Gara, their drummer, posted a few instagram posts about recording so not a super big surprise, but damn them playing Gov Ball would have been incredible. Better than LCD or GNR in my eyes. That's a damn shame. It must be crushing for Gov Ball to have LCD and Arcade Fire slip away.
Without spoiling anything for these jokers, does that mean that the name you and I discussed earlier in the year is in? Just wondering if I should think about snagging a ticket or not.
Nah went with another back up option. A repeat name from the past. One I love though.
