In 2014 they did announce Outkast as their headliner like 2 weeks before. Maybe they're announcing Kanye today to compete with Coachella tickets going on sale?
Also, anyone else find it kind of odd that tickets are going on sale the same time the lineup gets announced? I dont think I've seen that done before.
it's odd but they are clearly not expecting too much traffic to the ticketing site after the announcement. Think many people outside of NYC are in wait and see mode on a bunch of festivals at the moment.

At least the lineup will come out in full on Friday, otherwise it might be like 2013 again where people were expecting Radiohead and Daft Punk to fill that blank spot and got a less exciting GnR reunion instead, which caused GovBall to say stupid shit to everyone who was disappointed.
Wonder what they could trot out that would cause the most backlash possible. How about a top three of Beck/Macklemore/21 Pilots?

Yeah... it's just messing with my head at this point (especially waiting for some "leak").
I'm fairly surprised that we have no good idea of the headliners at this point... but I guess that's because the folks at founders/gov ball didn't really know for sure until recently either.
