Can you imagine the potential this year had though? It could have been Kanye-Arcade Fire-LCD Soundsystem-The Strokes. That would have been the best headliners of the year.
I feel like it wouldn't have been all 4 of those. I think it was something along the lines of Strokes being backup for Arcade Fire who were the backup of LCD

Actually would have been Kanye - Arcade Fire - Killers. Went for a double bill of Strokes/Beck after they couldn't get LCD or AF.
oh man that would have been amazing, can you tell us some stuff below the headliners now?
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

That lineup would have definitely sold me. Really sad Arcade Fire didn't happen.

People were saying Beck and Kanye are two strong headliners and now an extra headliner with The Strokes is disappointing? If the undercard is half way decent I am there. So I'm assuming Beck would sub the main stage?

Was about to say the same thing.
I'm guessing that top line if Kanye - Strokes - Killers (not Beck - unless they do all 4). Couldn't see Beck going up against anyone (except maybe Kanye?), so I'd assume Beck would get a the pre-headliner spot on main stage like you said.

If you've seen Beck, Kanye, and the Strokes it's disappointing. I was looking for a name I haven't seen before (Radiohead, Arcade Fire, etc.)
edit: It's a good top 3, just not what I'm looking for this year.

If Beck is playing any day (hopefully Saturday or SUnday) I will be getting a day pass that day. The festival always has a great amount of acts worth seeing but if Beck is the final act I see I'm not turning it down.
Friday is tough. When Outkast played I could only get in with enough time to see them and Phoneix (pre-headliner).

Weren't available. The other options they had for headliners were Tool, Mumford, or A Tribe Called Quest. I pleaded for Tool, but the decision was made that they wouldn't fit the demo. Mumford was actually going to play, then they cancelled because AEG made them a big offer to play Firefly and Panarama. When Panarama got cancelled they had the option to pick them up again and decided not to. Interest in Tribe fell off after they completely bombed on late night. Phife is very sick. They aren't what they used to be. Decided as much as we love them, don't want to promote a headliner that could possibly disappoint.
Seems like Panorama really fucked up Founders plans. If Tool or ATCQ were there, I would be going all three days. I'm probably not in the demo they're trying to grab. I've never had Miller Lite.

Hm, I was really hoping for Mumford this year. Kanye - Mumf - Beck would have been really strong for me. I don't really care for the Killers or Strokes. I probably won't be going to this, but a strong undercard could get me there for a day probably depending on the amount of Roo overlap. Though if the crossword puzzle is any indication, this probably won't be the case.
its a good top line, but it just feels kind of let down when you have 3 repeats and one act that is years out of their prime. 2017 Arcade Fire - Vampire Weekend - Calvin Harris - Lana Del Rey
Headliners: Kanye West (friday), The Strokes (Saturday), The Killers (Sunday) Second line: Beck // Of Monsters and Men // M83 Third line: Bloc Party // CHVRCHES // HAIM // Gary Clark Jr.
^this isn't 100% correct, at least billing wise, or as they put it, "lines"

For the best. I'd rather see a double bill of Beck/Strokes than Mumford.
Agreed. If only The Killers were replaced by anything good. I'm not going to completely rule going until I see the undercard. The Strokes were my favorite act from 2014 so I could be persuaded.

Source was telling me it from memory. I have no doubt the acts are right but could be some missing from each line or one line off

I've heard conflicting reports on this, is Panorama completely canceled or just pushed back to august?

That second/third line would be a step down from past years if that was the case?

Wait, people are complaining about this?? Im so friggin stoked! I wasn't able to see The Strokes in 2014, so them alone has me pumped. Kanye is always a good show, and looking at recent Killers set lists I see they play heavy on their first 2 albums, which I thought were great. And of course Beck : )
Surprised I didn't see Sia on that post, but we'll see for sure in a few hours.

Very interesting - I love when you share info like this!
I'd always been under the assumption that headliners (just the top line) wouldn't be allowed to play both Firefly and Gov Ball - guess that's not the case? (does make sense since FF is really the Philly / MD Market, but there's a fairly large NY demo)

Seen Kayne a few times before (gov/yeezus tour/12.12.12), but otherwise it's the "year of missed opportunities" for me - missed strokes in '14, and Killers at firefly last year. Haven't had a chance to see Beck either. Totally understand how some may be a bit underwhelmed, but personally I'll be seeing most of em for the first time so I'm very pleased
Also, don't forget that Kanye would likely be premiering a good portion of his new album here too.
, if you're able to say / do know, what was the deal with the clues? Did they mean to have the kanye link up there? or was it a mistake that they then took down?

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Not to mention having Kanye and The Strokes come back to headline has me thinking they will both have new material and stage production!
