This is what they said earlier re: Strokes & new music. It's sort of factually incorrect, but the point they're making is encouraging:
Not sure if you've been following reports or news about The Strokes, but they may or may not have some new music in the works for 2016. This would be their first batch of new tunes in, well, just about a half decade. Kind of a big deal. Also, they've played a total of 8 shows in North America in the last decade, so I'd say it's a pretty big deal any time they hit the stage.
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief

The Courtney Barnett/Chvrches conflict sucks.
Bloc Party/Jamie XX isn't great, but I figured there would be a conflict Friday.
Looks like I'll probably be running from Beck to Jamie XX and back to the Strokes. Hopefully VIP makes this easier. I hate being far from the stage otherwise I could sneak from set to set easier.
Yeah agreed but you can't blame The Strokes for predominantly playing tunes from their two best received albums, given that those were made during their prime. It's not like their other three albums had the same reception.
Well they treat Room on Fire similarly. Last American show had 8 Is This It songs and only 4 Room on Fire songs out of an 18 song set. Doesn't help that they don't even play their entire time slot. They've been late and left early every time I've seen them over the past five years.
Thanks for the answer, but I think I'm gonna opt for the ferry. I've walked across the bridge the past two years and it really sucks. I think the Ferries should be good as long I don't catch them at high capacity times.
Pro ferry here. The line does suck if you're coming from a main stage show after 11, but it gets you to the fest quick. And way less walking.

Fuck there are a lot of conflicts already. Chvrches vs. Courtney is tough, as is Two Door Cinema Club vs. Gary Clark Jr. Also Friday is gonna be rough running from Beck to Bloc Party back to the main stage for the Strokes.
Also I'm surprised that Two Door Cinema Club is the main stage sub for Kanye. I would have thought Chvrches were bigger.
They said Sigur Ros was not booked and never backed out, refuting Launchpad's claim. Hmmmmmm
To be fair, Launchpad never said they were booked. Just that they were trying to get them. But I do love that they had to address Sigur Ros and the AF rumors Launchpad was spinning in the AMA.

For those with the means and money, doing a Boston Calling and GovBall combo would clear up a handful of conflicts (Robyn, Courtney Barnett, Miike Snow, Haim)

Could've sworn he said they were pretty much locked in and then backed out after rerouting their tour.
I kinda wish he was here to see how'd he react to this.

100% agree. Panorama's lineup is much weaker, and for more money. And they already said they aren't doing single day passes (although I have a feeling they'll change their mind on that).
If they do single days, I'm looking forward to seeing Arcade Fire on that Friday and then Flight of the Conchords that Sunday.

Someone just showed me the following awful out-of-tune live video of Years & Years who are playing GovBall (as well as Osheaga and a bunch of other festivals this summer):
So what's the guesses for next year's headliners? '15/'16 GovBall ones would be out, and I'd guess '16 Pano's too (would look pretty dumb if they booked Kendrick next year imo).
Looks like kinda slim pickings.
