In the past years they did have special aftershows of people on the lineup (Damon Albarn, Earl & Tyler, DJ sets by Deadmau5, Big Gigantic and FlyLo).
BTW, can somebody share the secret on how to squeeze in aftershows between three full festival days? In particular on how to maintain the energy and not be exhausted.
Do a lot of blow I guess?
I honestly don't know. Taking a look at the lineup if I had to guess who might be doing after shows I'd pick M83, Jamie XX, Chet Faker, Matt & Kim. Eagles Of Death Metal confirmed they were playing the Warsaw on 6/4 but I don't see it listed officially on Ticketweb.
Main problem is that if you want to stick around to see the headliner, unless the aftershow doesn't start until midnight it's tough to swing both. Even getting down too Webster Hall/Irving Plaza can take 45 min from Randalls.
I noticed this. This is my second gov ball and have not done aftershows. I looked at timing last year and wondered how is it even possible. Not missing a headlining set and Loke you said it's 45 min if you all hauling. So why have a show that does not start at at least midnight?

I went to the J Roddy aftershow last year. It was Saturday night at Brooklyn Bowl. Saturday headliners were Deadmau5 and Ryan Adams so we left early, maybe at 1030. We got to the venue around midnight but The Business didn't take the stage til maybe 130, there were two openers. They played until about 315 and we were in bed by 415. We were not there when the gates opened Sunday.

Didn't the AMA Reddit pretty much reveal most of the schedule? I believe the clashfinder is like 90% accurate, at least for the late afternoon on anyway.

Yeah unlike other years, the Reddit AMA revealed a huge amount of info regarding conflicts and scheduling. Though the actual set lengths are still up in the air.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this one is near 100% correct after 3pm or so all three days: clashfinder.com/s/gb2016/
Based off the Coachella streams, I really liked Miike Snow's new songs live as opposed to on record, so they're probably a must-see for me now. Hoping Purity Ring is booked for an after show.
Thought Chrvches sounded pretty lifeless. Liked M83, but my group wants to see the Killers and they usually put on a good show.

It for sure did. There is some undercard stuff I want to see how it is sorted out and one or two things from the AMA I guess I just don't want to be true

If you click on the lineup grid, looks like they have it organized by stage which should give some indication of conflicts (though, as someone pointed out, the Clashfinder is mostly correct based on the Reddit AMA.

Yup yup couldn't have hardly picked the schedule and day by day lineup better if I tried. Initially I was kind of pissed to have to stay in NYC for my cousins wedding ($$$) but this all kind of fell into place perfectly.

That makes it seems like it's not Courtney vs. Chvrches, which they implied at the AMA I thought. It doesn't matter for me, I'm a Courtney guy, but my friend and his wife will maybe attend Courtney with me then.

Is Thomas Jack such a big deal to be granted the coveted tent closer on Sunday? Never really paid attention to him.
By comparison, he's booked at 3:40 in the Sahara at Coachella. Even at Outside Lands, he's booked above Nathanial Ratliff, Foals, Anderson Paak, etc.
Must have a good booking agent because I dunno why either. Still seems odd to me that GovBall is booking him against Chet Faker, which seems like the main other act you'd probably want to see if you a bought a ticket to see either.

It probably will be, though not as bad as EOTS and ODESZA. Surprised that Bloc Party gets to close the Big Apple stage given the hit to their reputation. Jamie xx would have been fine there too, similar to Flume last year.
