Really hoping I don't get there tomorrow just for it to be cancelled. Still really want to go and I'll enjoy myself in the rain but at this point it's looking like thunderstorms and I'd take a refund if it meant I didn't have to pay to get down there to hear one act and then they cancel.
Beck mashed Princes 1999 with Where Its At! That was a thing that happened. So amazing
I left my spot up front during Strokes early to catch a bit of Robyn.. and then turned right back around and caught that last half of Strokes. They killed it.
Getting out of there last night was an absolute disaster. Me and my friends sat in VIP for like 20 minutes waiting for things to clear out. BIG MISTAKE. We are staying in Long Island City, a block from Queensboro Plaza, and didn't get home until 2:15. We tried to go back through the grounds to the East Gate to catch the bus or the foot bridge at 103rd, and we were told the East Gate had been closed (wtf?). If we wanted the bus we had to go to the West Gate and around. Then 20 minutes later when they realized their ginormous QUACK UP, they re-opened the East Gate. Because of the terrible planning, the shuttle over to 125th was free at that point, but we just said screw it and did the zombie walk. As far as their organization goes, this was the first problem I've ever really had, but it was a pretty big mistake. We wanted to leave by 10:30 today but as of now we're all struggling to get out of bed even.
The Ramen Burger was pretty good. Hoping to hit up Wafels and Dinges today.
Just so you know since your staying by queensborough plaza you should walk over the Triboro bridge to Astoria...it's somewhat crowded though a lot less crowded than going to Manhattan and you can hop on the N train from Astoria
We did that Friday night last year, and I don't think I *seriously* considered jumping off that bridge, but I can't remember the details. It was terrible and I can't do it again. Then again, I'm a 35 YO man in a 75 YO man's body.

Here's a great video from Black Pistol Fire's last show with the crowd surfing guitar playing and him smashing the guitar at the end. I'm so sad that they are in Philly on Tuesday when I have work commitments.
Thought Years & Years was great, fun set to dance to and while I've heard criticisms of their sound/singing live, i thought it was solid.
Action Bronson was what you'd expect, but don't think his rap style translates to a festival audience unless you're a real fan.
Of Monsters and Men are spot on musically, but probably need another solid album and they'd be a great sub headliner. Some of their songs drag a little live, but I enjoyed the set.
FJM was a little all over the place and his crowd kinda sucked, so while I enjoyed it I think I'd rather see him in a smaller setting. Set list was kinda wonky too.
Have never been that impressed by Beck live, but that was one of this festivals best performances in any year I've been here. Great setlist, and owned the stage.
the tent was such a shit show and I'm not that big into Jamie xx so we sat that one out.
I take back all of my strokes booking criticism because they were great. Really excited for what they put out next, which I probably haven't thought since 2004.
Thundercat aftershow was great, perfect way to wind down. Curious to see how he's received at the fest given I think he's perfect for a small club where he can jam.
Had the poke bowl, really fucking good. Dan & Johns wings are the best in NYC if you've never had them.

It seems like the rain will come in quick bursts probably nothing continuous. It's just the lightning that could be the issue. I really hope I don't make it a personal 3 for 3 streak of festivals shut down from a storm (Firefly and Voodoo)
So apparently Consequence of Sound is saying the "special guest" tomorrow is Prophets of Rage. Taking it with a grain of salt as one should with rumors from CoS, but it would be pretty dope if they were the guest...

Ugh. Jealous for PoR. Would love to see that, but the rain not so much. Yesterday was perfect with it lightly raining during Christine and the Queen's.
