Alright, chuckleheads. I did a poll like this 2 years ago, let's see if people do any better now.
I believe this is a list of all pop stars* who could headline** Bonnaroo.*** Who would you most like to see on the Bonnaroo mainstage?
You may select three.
Adele Beyoncé Bruno Mars Ed Sheeran Janet Jackson Justin Timberlake Katy Perry Ke$ha Lady Gaga Lorde Madonna Miley Cyrus Nicki Minaj Rihanna Rod Stewart Sam Smith Taylor Swift
*I've excluded the ones who've already headlined (Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Billy Joel). **Or come close ***or a festival the size of Bonnaroo
I went with Beyonce, JT, and Taylor Swift Rihanna (missed her initially in the poll). I wouldn't mind a Beyonce show. She's someone I'd never see solo, but would have fun with at a festival. The other two, it would depend on what the LN options are.
She might not be one of my top three overall from that list, but because I've never seen her and she doesn't perform live very much, it would be a must see event for me. Along with Beyonce and Rihanna, of course.
That's how I feel about Rihanna. I'm constantly surprised that she's still a pop star. Her music's good in the overproduced-pop-star kind of way, but I never felt like she had the type of spark or soul that would give her such staying power. And I think her music can be kind of grating.

Rihanna Beyonce, Nicki, JT. I had a hard time deciding between JT and Bey but if JT does some songs from FutureSex/LoveSounds that would be too much fun. This is also assuming Lady Gaga is doing Tony Bennett stuff, because 2011 Gaga would be #1 by far.
EDIT: I changed my mind I'd take Beyonce over Rihanna

ELLA ELLA ELLA AY AY AY
To be fair, the music she's put out in 9 years since Umbrella has been much better.

I never listen to Rihanna's music. Someone played a clip of her performing at some festival and it looked like a fun time. I could switch Gaga with Ri for my final pick. Oh wait. I heard one of her newer songs recently and thought it was terrible. I'm sticking with Lady Gaga if I have to pick three.

This is exactly correct. I wasn't a fan of that song, but she's been great on a lot of her other forty-five top 40 songs over the past 8 years.

Here's what I think is the setlist from Rihanna's last show. From Rude Boy on is straight fire.
Mother Mary Phresh Out the Runway Birthday Cake Talk That Talk Pour It Up Cockiness (Love It) Numb You da One Man Down No Love Allowed Rude Boy What's My Name? Jump Umbrella All of the Lights (Kanye West cover) Rockstar 101 What Now Loveeeeeee Song Love the Way You Lie (Part II) Take a Bow Cold Case Love Hate That I Love You We Found Love S&M Only Girl (In the World) Don't Stop the Music Where Have You Been Encore: Stay Diamonds
She might not be one of my top three overall from that list, but because I've never seen her and she doesn't perform live very much, it would be a must see event for me. Along with Beyonce and Rihanna, of course.
This makes sense, actually. Her rarity is a good selling point for sure.
