This is a tough choice. I voted for Madonna first, but that is just so someone older than me will be at the festival.
But, if someone like Taylor is there, the farm will be populated with 50,000 15-year old girls, which means the crowds will be smaller for every other show I want to see for 4 days. No lines in the Broo'ers Tent. I might even get to perform with some lonely artists. I don't know that I want to see many of the folks on the list, but there might be beneficial consequences.
Most grown adults I know are fans of Taylor Swift. She has the same kind of appeal Beyonce does at this point, I don't think you can pinpoint her fanbase to a certain age group.

What I'm getting from this is that you want to be at a festival with 50,000 15-year-old girls. Interesting.

LOL. In other tents, quietly enjoying a craft beer by myself.

Your post got me thinking about this article from the Charlotte Observer after Taylor's show there this Spring, referencing all the dad's enjoying the show.
I'm sure I am being unfair about the impact on the crowd. And, regardless of the headliner, I'll probably be in the crowd. The only one I have purposely missed has been Jack Johnson in 2013, and the consequence of that was practically sitting on stage with Billy Idol.
My other votes, besides Madonna, were for Ed Sheeran (love what he can do with a loop pedal, but I'm not sure how that works for 80,000 people) and Adele. I do need to see Madonna before our performing/viewing careers end.
Beyonce and Taylor Swift for sure, and then Justin Timberlake over Rihanna only because I've seen Rihanna. She's great live though, I'd still see her if she was there. I didn't realize Adele doesn't play that many shows until I tried to look at her setlists and it said she's only played a couple of gigs since 2011. That'd be a novelty as other people have stated. Shit, I'd really enjoy seeing Lorde and Lady Gaga too. I'd rather see any of the artists I just mentioned over Foo Fighters, Muse and about half the other bands people list as hopefuls.
and the second most likely (Lana Del Rey) didn't even make the poll.
Lana Del Ray can't even headline Gov Ball and now she's headlining Bonnaroo?
To be fair, Lorde hasn't headlined any other big festivals either. I think the OP implies that these pop acts could theoretically headline Bonnaroo in the near future. Like it or not, Lana will probably be in the same boat as Florence next year.
I believe this is a list of all pop stars* who could headline** Bonnaroo.*** Who would you most like to see on the Bonnaroo mainstage?
You may select three.
Adele Beyoncé Bruno Mars Ed Sheeran Janet Jackson Justin Timberlake Katy Perry Ke$ha Lady Gaga Lorde Madonna Miley Cyrus Nicki Minaj Rihanna Rod Stewart Sam Smith Taylor Swift
*I've excluded the ones who've already headlined (Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Billy Joel). **Or come close ***or a festival the size of Bonnaroo
I wouldn't know what to do if an act I really really liked played during a theoretical ke$sha set. I would also get real drunk for this theoretical ke$ha set.
