Looks like the Mariachi's aren't with them after May. Wonder if that means a shoe in for Lucius--- I think there's a connection between them. Or maybe I'm just thinking of the Ohio connection!
These are the types of moves that Newport likes to make , so they can get Black Keys on the cheap one year.
Only if the Keys just do a set of Junior Kimbrough covers. (Actually, wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Dan do something of that ilk on the Museum stage). Otherwise I much prefer the Arcs to whatever the Black Keys are these days
I gotta say this announcement makes me much more ok with skipping Osheaga this year.
Now I've got my fingers crossed for Beirut. He's got a gap in his tour schedule, but it's between two canadian dates, so it's pretty unlikely he'd made the trip down to RI but not impossible.

I'm gonna throw the idea of " Cowboy Junkies " out there. See that they added some City Winery shows before Newport. They are definitely Newport material. They also did a song with Ryan Adams as well. So that would also boost the idea of Ryan showing up to just wander around and play with other bands

I was going to be a last minute stand-in for his brother. No advance plans were made, but then he ditched me less than 24 hours later. But we definitely need a show to meet up at!

Kicking myself for not getting the Newport Folk Friday ticket with The Arcs being announced
It's a shame Newport Folk's Fan-to-Fan resale option hasn't really taken off, as I'd love to go, but I don't want to risk buying a ticket off Ace Ticket or StubHub
oh well. Good to hear that the Friday folk will get to hear them!
