He had a band last year i remember the lovely catherine popper played bass for him. I don't know who the other two guys were and brian talked about how they had never played together before the set except for trying to practice together on skype
For those who didn't see on social media, the Newport Folk shop is having a sale on some items, including $10 tees, a $25 poster and some other cool things! I got a onesie for my baby boy who will be born in September
Kind of out of the blue but what do people think about the possibility of Keith Richards playing? He has no summer gigs with The Stones and he put out a new album last year. Just a thought!

I would take keith any day. I was sort of thinking radiohead has a chance to. I would rather cat or keith or any other legend but i suppose they could fit the mold

I really think they aren't announcing any of them. It's a risky chance in my opinion. Because it's gonna likely make people expect crazy headliners. If that doesn't come through, may lead to disappointment for some .
With most of MMJ there for Ray is there a chance Jim shows up to be Friday headliner with another surprise MMJ set?
They pulled that last year, I don't see them doing that again, this soon.
But I'm gonna hope for Monsters of Folk.

Yea, but last year was like a mini set and mostly the Roger Waters thing.
I could see them getting another full set but I agree it's probably too soon to do again. I just figure since Jim is involved with the fest and seems to love it that it seemed more likely than a Monsters of Folk set. I'd love it if NFF got MoF to play but seems like it'd be a harder get. Though both Conor and M. Ward have large gaps in their schedule so maybe?
I'll be very upset if this is the year for MoF and Middle Brother and I may not be able to make it.
