Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Just saw Glen Hansard last night in Brooklyn. Would love for him to land a pre-headlining set at the Fort next year. His catalog is fantastic, he does a decent amount of covers (did a great Astral Weeks cover last night) and loves telling stories behind his songs. Sounds like the right fit for Newport to me. Has he been before?

Apologies if this has been asked before --- Does anyone have a good idea of where to stay for NFF? This will be our first time and there are 4 of us. I usually do camping festivals so this is my first festival where we'd be at a hotel or airbnb

If youre looking for cheap, we stayed in Middletown on our day down last year. It is a very short drive, hotels are reasonable, enough stuff around for food and drinks. Youll be away from the nicer areas of Newport though but its maybe a six minute drive in to the vacation town areas and bars.

Might not be able to swing it this year with some other plans getting in the way around the same time. Would be devastated to miss Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam play if they got him.
Would he be a headliner because of how little he has been touring?
I got my Saturday ticket!! Now to start speculating the lineups...
My personal wish list:
Monsters of Folk James Taylor (Full Set) Gary Clark Jr. (He released a new album this year, the last time he played NFF was 2012 I believe) Father John Misty Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Reignwolf

Well, I got a regular 3-day at about 9:08 CST, and then when I saw more early birds were available at 9:27, I picked up one of those too. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a deal (even if it's $10)...
Early bird acquired! I am not sure I mentioned this in the thread or not, but I likely have to be at a conference the week after- and in Kansas City of all places, so I am sure flights won't be convenient. I might end up having to leave early on Sunday or skip Sunday altogether. This job is already keeping me from Bonnaroo (unless the Roo gods are on my side) so I REALLY don't want it to keep me from this too.

Just take one of the first flights out of Green on Monday morning

That's what I am hoping for, but the conference starts at 9:00 AM and I highly doubt that I can can a direct flight to Kansas City from there. I think with layovers, I will end up way too late. I will be trying for that first!

If you have not been there before the Airport is northwest of the city. If your conf is downtown you will have about 10 miles to contend with.

I looked up Southwest, which is currently showing to early June. So I looked up the weekend before Memorial Day, and there's a couple flights (PVD - MDW or BWI - MCI) where you can get to KC by 11 or so.

Few hours late ok?
No. That's way too late (especially as 11 is the time of plane arrival- not my arrival at the venue). It technically starts on Sunday but all I miss is a reception and "pre-training" at an additional cost, so I think it's okay if I miss it. I really can't get there after 9 am (which is already skipping breakfast but that's when the panels and such start).
