SUCH a great choice. Enjoy this modern masterpiece, nerds.
Also I really like this any other suggestions for him?
Yes, he's got other terrific works that are also easily found on YT, but "Become Ocean" will likely be the cornerstone (or only?) performance of his music at the festival. It's what won the Pulitzer Prize and dramatically increased his popularity within the last year or so. I wouldn't be surprised if Glenn Kotche is back and they perform their new collaborative work, but since that's not out until next week...

In addition to the Orchestra’s performance of Become Ocean, the Big Ears weekend will feature several of John Luther Adams’ definitive compositions, culminating in an unforgettable outdoor performance, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks. We are deeply honored to have this great American composer join us for Big Ears 2016.
I'm suspecting Inuksuit since he did that outdoor a few years ago in Knoxville.

"We’re adding a remarkable new venue to mix for #BigEarsKnox 2016. So new that it doesn’t exist yet and very few know that it is coming. It will be a Big Ears focal point with amazing programming. More to share … eventually."
So yeah, that takes out anything that is currently a venue in Knoxville. The picture has that fine wood slat flooring that makes me think more of a rehabbed structure rather than new construction. Unfortunately, that doesn't narrow it down much for the area we are talking about.

I'm definitely leaving that to you guys. I will say that I'm excited for a new space though.

Latest clue: "Just one day separates us from our 2016 #BigEarsKnox lineup reveal, including full ticketing details. Prepare yourselves now."
Im not 100% certain, but I think they're hinting that tomorrow the full line-up will be revealed. I wouldn't be surprised if they also gave some ticketing details... but I could be wrong. Any other theories?
I'm actually getting nervous about ticket prices. Of all the weeks out of the year, this is the worst for money.
Seriously crossing fingers that I can convince ACE to let me get 2 passes with my street team points. I know I'll be there. It's just a matter of when I get tickets.
My excitement level is through the roof. Right now, The Necks and Braxton is all I need. Starting hope for Wolf Eyes, too.

But the good news is that they don't seem to be having any presale or tiered prices. And I doubt the entire event will sell out the first weekend... so you should have some time!

Ya. I'm not too worried about a sell out. I don't think it has ever sold out. It's more about seating for the "big" shows. I'm curious to see what exactly they do about tickets. If I get weekend passes, can I buy the Tennessee at a later date or do I have to buy them all at once?
And good on them for not doing tiers. I've always hated that in order to get "good" prices that you have to be good at the internet.

Street team tickets tickets usually work differently. I know with Bonnaroo I had to but groop camping separate and message them about it. With Forecastle, late nights would have been a separate purchase whenever I chose to get it. I assume Tennessee shows will work the same.
Oh yeah. The tease for today appears to be Yo La Tengo according to the Facebook.
Yeah, that's definitely YLT. The photo matches the new live setup and the description quotes lyrics from Did I Tell You. Jeez this lineup is shaping up to be incredible.
Really hoping they add a weekend pass option. Right now it's daily passes at $49.50/night and the Tennessee is another $30/night. So if you wanted to do everything, $240 for the weekend. That said, it's 4 am and things might not be done on their end yet.
Then there is this:
Tickets may be secured as an add-on while purchasing your General Admission Weekend Pass or Daily Ticket only.
E: actually, it can't be done. No mention of the VIP tickets yet.

Thanks, Knoxnews for being consistent.

I hope we find out what Tennessee Theatre alternatives will be playing each night. I don't want to spend an extra $90 only to discover I won't be seeing any of the performances!
But with that said... HOLY LINE-UP!!! What are the chances Sunn O))) could convince Scott Walker to make a cameo?
