Hey what a good hotel for this? Going to do a lot of listening tonight but I don't think I can miss this one.
It get's pricey if you stay downtown. I did Hilton last year and paid just over a $100/night. I enjoyed it but trying the Holiday Inn this year. The bottom line is they have an indoor pool.
If you stay outside of downtown, the prices are cheaper and parking is cheap and plentiful for the festival.
If I actually start grad school in January I think this is a no go. (((( It's the first week of classes for the spring quarter and my classes will mostly be on Saturdays.

I saw Sunn O))) almost 10 years ago... and while I knew they had a reputation for being loud... I had NO IDEA what that experience would be like. My ribcage was vibrating at a frequency that more or less felt like I was continually vomiting. I could only make it through 30 mins. This will be attempt #2.
This was the third or forth time that I saw them after a very, very long day at Hopscotch. Happy hour at the little Mexican place didn't help, either. I think there was 5, maybe 6, of us and we all fell asleep at some point. That was one of my biggest regrets that year.

This is really tough. I know that I'd definitely love the music that's playing at the Tennessee Theatre... and I am a HUGE fan of Philip Glass. But I've seen him a dozen or so times already... Do I buy all 3 just to make sure I have the option... or will it be a waste of $100(ish) once I find out the actual schedule.
I'm personally skipping them. The only one that even interests me is the Laurie Anderson + Philip Glass show, and I've seen Glass a few times. Same with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Andrew Bird. I also like the idea of this lineup a lot more for $150.

For those who have gone in previous years, does it look like this is the full lineup or are a couple additions possible?
As it stands this is a tremendous lineup, I'm definitely going to try to make it down for it.
I'm not sure. In years past Big Ears has had at least one round of additions. OTOH, the typical "more to be announced" note at the bottom of the lineup page is conspicuously absent today. The announcement today states: "There’s more to come, including other special performances and details to be revealed in the coming weeks." But the wording seems careful not to imply more unique artists, just more shows by the same artists, or combinations thereof. So, new stuff will come, but it may not be any new names.

That's what got me. It's defiantly some more collaborations but I'm feeling like they might do more than recycle names. Thanks, you just reminded me. I may finally get to witness a Braxton/Wolf Eyes collaboration.
BTW,I meant Thursday in my post a second ago. My apologies. This Thursday-Saturday thing is gonna kill me.

Agreed. I don't know if Big Ears has established enough of a pattern as to where I could confidently say yes or no on additions. Either would make sense.
No Braxton/Sunn/Faust shows mean this just WAY cheaper.
Same. The shows sound cool, but I don't know if any of them are $30 cool for me when there will likely be something I like more happening at other venues.
It will be interesting to see how the new ticketing system pans out. I wish they'd only be making part of the Tennessee Theater separately ticketed (front half or two-thirds of orchestra, with the rest being GA pass holders). Feel like it's definitely a gamble on their part.

Can someone catch me up to speed on what this Bedroom Community Anniversary is? All I know on that lineup is Ben Frost, but what should I be expecting?
Truthfully, you hit the nail on the head with what's announced. I feel like noting the Bedroom Community show will be Ben, Nico, Sam, & Valgeir performing together. It's not like one and another and another and another. I'm sure you knew that but didn't want people to get disappointed.
The video they posted -
E: Hahaha I was literally just typing that.
