I'm switching parties and changing my vote. The move from Fri-Sun to Thurs-Sat was a bad one.
Hopscotch does Thursday-Saturday and I really wish they'd switch to Friday-Sunday. Works so much better for M-F workers.
Not 100% sure I'll be able to make it this year, but if I do:
Thursday Mamiffer -> Wolf Eyes -> Molly Nilsson -> some of YLT -> Andy Stott
Friday Nief-Norf -> Anthony Braxton Tentet -> Marc Ribot -> Shabazz Palaces -> Outside The Dream Syndicate -> maybe some of YLT/Lambchop, depending upon how close to the Bijou the new venue is -> Nicolas Jaar
Saturday Steven Schick -> Angel Olsen -> Mary Halvorson -> Tony Conrad -> Anthony Braxton Trio -> Laurie Anderson/Philip Glass -> The Necks -> Sunn O))) -> Kiasmos

On paper, this looks amazing. Then alcohol happens.
Looking at the schedule again, I realize I'm probably going to need to choose either Sunn O))) or Kiasmos. Both likely won't happen. I've got some time.

My schedules are always made with best intentions, and rarely pan out... but I think I'm settled on this:
Thursday This is a bit of a crapshoot. If the new venue is near the Standard, I'm fine... otherwise, I'll have to cut a few of these out (or at least leave earlier from each show). 7:00pm - 8:00 - Mamiffer 8:00 - 9:00 - Sun Ra Arkestra 9:00 - 9:45 - Wolf Eyes 10:00 - 10:30 - Molly Nilsson 10:30 - 11:00 - Zeena Parkins & Tony Buck 11:00 - 12:30am - Yo La Tengo 12:30 - 1:15 - Andy Stott
Friday 5:00pm - 5:45 - Nief-Norf 6:00 - 7:00 - Chris Abrahams 7:00 - 7:45 - Anthony Braxton Tentet 8:00 - 9:00 - Marc Ribot 9:00 - 10:15 - Vijay Iyer & Wadada Leo Smith 10:30 - 11:30 - Outside the Dream Syndicate (Conrad w/ Faust) 11:30 - 12:30am - Yo La Tengo & Lambchop 12:30 - 2:00 - Nicolas Jaar
Saturday 1:00pm - 2:00 - Steven Schick 2:00 - 3:00 - Angel Olsen 3:00 - 4:00 - Mary Halverson 4:00 - 5:15 - Tony Conrad 5:15 - 6:00 - Ikue Mori 6:00 - 7:00 - Anthony Braxton Trio 7:00 - 8:00 - Maya Beiser 8:15 - 9:45 - Philip Glass w/ Laurie Anderson 10:00 - 11:00 - The Necks 11:00 - 12:00am - Circuit Des Yeux 12:00 - 12:30 - Sunn O))) 12:30 - 1:15 - Klasmos 1:15 - 2:00 - Kamasi Washington
10:00 - 11:00 - The Necks 11:00 - 12:00am - Circuit Des Yeux 12:00 - 12:30 - Sunn O))) 12:30 - 1:15 - Klasmos 1:15 - 2:00 - Kamasi Washington
That's gonna be a lot of running from The Necks to Circuit Des Yeux back to get a spot for Sunn O))) and then turn around and go back for Kiasmos and Kamasi.
I'm just ditching Circuit and staying put to seat hop for Sunn. She tours so much and I've seen her so many times.

At the moment, I'm thinking about renting a bike (maybe they'll do the bike offering they had last year)... but if that doesn't work, I'll definitely have to re-think this block. I've never seen Circuit or Klasmos, but I've seen Sunn and Kamasi... Man... this BLOCK.
10:00 - 11:00 - The Necks 11:00 - 12:00am - Circuit Des Yeux 12:00 - 12:30 - Sunn O))) 12:30 - 1:15 - Klasmos 1:15 - 2:00 - Kamasi Washington

HOLY CRAP!?!?! This is like a dream fest for my weird ears! Sun Ra Arkestra, FAUST, PHillip GLass! Marshall Allen performing with Heiroglyphic! Marc Ribot! Yo Le Tango OMG My head! There's literally literally nothing on this line up I don't wan't to see! A little bummed about Glass and Anderson being an additional charge but I can deal with that!
It truly is an oasis in a southern landscape. It's hard to find these type of festivals ouutside of Europe, let alone the southern United States.
You should join. You won't be disappoint.
My eyes are WIDE for this. I thought I heard Ikue Mori is going to be there too but I must be missing her on the Lineup page. I'm disappointed that I'm going to miss an opportunity to see a Phillip Glass collaboration but at the same time I'll never be so happy to be missing a Phillip Glass collaboration for something else! I am giddy over being able to see Werner "Zappi" Diermaier and Peron's FAUST! I LOVE the Sun Ra Arkestra and Marshall Allen but man I get all squirmey thinking about Faust! love love love some Faust
Looks like there might be some hope. From Big Ears Facebook:
Welcome to 2016! The New Year brings more exciting #BigEarsKnox news … two extraordinary installations, a thrilling film program, plus - yes - we’re taking your suggestions to heart and tweaking the schedule too! Details in the next week or so!
I'll start hoping that Sunn/Circuit Des Yeux/Kiasmos overlap can be changed just a bit.

Ugh - other than Philip Glass and Faust, I was surprised how few conflicts I had. BUT I'll muster up a little bit of faith and see what they come up with.

Think this mean Ijams (I-Jams as Jeff tweedy pronounced it)?

Probably. They have a good sized area where they put a stage for concerts. It's either Ijams or the Botanical Gardens.
This really is starting to feel like Hopscotch. Via Facebook.
We're adding a "sanctuary" as a 6th venue at #BigEarsKnox this year, the perfect setting for a beautiful John Luther Adams installation. Plus, it'll house a surprise show or two or three. Stay tuned for more!

Any guesses?
Central United Methodist Church on Third Avenue.
Why is the guy from Knoxville not answering this question?
Woof. This may change my schedule up a bit unless I pack my bike this year. That's gonna be a hell of a walk.
Bike is 2000% the way to go. I am so very glad I brought mine last year.
EDIT: Also, who else thinks this Sunday surprise thing might be a way of backpedaling a bit on the move to Thurs-Sat? Perhaps they'll go back to Fri-Sun next year?
Also, I'm really good at being first post on a new page in this thread.
