A thread needed to be made for this. Finally started watching it over the weekend. I wasn't expecting much since it's broadcast on USA. But I am hooked. Best new show of the year. It's like they mashed together The Matrix, American Psycho, and Fight Club together into one thing. I am on episode 7. Can't wait to finish work today and get through the last 3.

I haven't watched any of this show yet, but Christian Slater and Rami Malek were on The Nerdist and Chris Hardwick was pretty apeshit over it. He basically kept saying he thought it was on the same level with Breaking Bad. Definitely caught my interest.
Not sure if this or The Jinx has been my favorite show of the year. For those in the process of watching this show, make sure you watch past the credits in the finale. A+ season 1.
Anybody else think Tyrell might be another of Elliot's personalities/delusions? I will have to rewatch to see if it holds up. But based on that finale and the interaction with his "wife."It got me thinking.
Earlier in the season Tyrell tearfully says to his wife something about how they have been ignoring what was above them, God.
In the finale when Mr. Robot was proving to Elliot they were the same; he picks a fight with a guy in a coffee shop and gets knocked down. Then Mr Robot says to Elliot "I'm only supposed to be your profit. You're supposed to be my God."
Just weird how the allusions to God keep coming up.
This show blew my mind. How the hell did the head honchos at USA steal this show from HBO? Even after i had read the glowing reviews, i stayed away because, "no way in hell is a show on USA gonna be worth a damn!". Boy was i wrong. That first episode that David Fincher directed has to be the best pilot ever filmed. The theatric feel that made this show feel like you where watching a new movie each episode was spectacular. Just started to give it a re-watch to see what i missed and because i love re-watching shows i enjoy, i dunno.
Just finished the first season the other day. I'm really excited to see where this goes. I'd rank it number two for favorite tv show in 2015, behind Fargo. Only complaint is how it is just a little too much like Fight Club, to the point where its clear to me that Sam Esmail isn't even trying to hide it.
First Person voice over, Elliot beating himself up after reveal of Mr. Robot being a delusion, piano rendition of 'Where is My Mind", plot to erase all debt, David Fincher directing first episode, etc.
It was also fairly predictable in the fact that Mr. Robot wasn't real, (it's noticeable that even from the first few episodes that his interactions with characters other than Elliot were very minimal.) although I didn't expect him to be Elliot's dad.
But I thought it was well-written and above all super intriguing. I have ideas on who it was that knocked on his door in the last episode.
Yes, season 1 was awesome. I swear I read an article semi-recently saying that season 1 was just a setup and that shit would get crazy going forward...

I agree the whole big reveal there is no mr. robot part of it was super obvious. Even just a few episodes in it was pretty clear, and should have been to anyone with a knowledge of popular film making over the past couple of decades or so (to whenever Fight Club/Sixth Sense was made). But what's weird is the show is so marvelously well done I didn't even care that much about the obvious parallels to Fight Club. Typically that's the kind of thing that would bug me, but it caused me zero distress while watching it, because everything else about the show is so entertaining and interesting.
Finally gotten around to watching this in prep for Season 2 this week. Just finished episode 6. So raw. I'm supposed to be going to sleep for work right now, but that opening scene in episode 7... Holy cow
Okay, so I finished season 1. I feel like I'm watching the show for Elliot/Rami Malek more than anything. I love the plot, direction, characters, intensity, and suspense, but I find myself just wanting more and more scenes of him. Such insanely good acting and character development.
I had watched about fifteen minutes of the 9th episode randomly before deciding to watch this show entirely, and therefore accidentally discovered that Mr Robot was in his head the whole time. But I was still taken off guard by Shayla's death, Darlene being his sister, and Mr Robot being his dad. Also, it's about time we had a show about bringing down the Illuminati haha
I might have to rewatch the season now that I know about Darlene, Shayla, and Mr Robot. Originally, I viewed Darlene as just his space cadet dealer who he sometimes randomly slept with. I want to rewatch it with the idea that she was someone kinda special to him who he had a quasi relationship with, in as much as he is capable of having a relationship. It always was weird to me that Shayla never really reacted much to Darlene just busting up in his house and whatnot, but perhaps Shayla somehow knew that was his sister? I'd like to watch his interactions with Darlene from a brother and sister perspective. And now that I for sure know Mr Robot was him the whole time, and that he had obviously been in contact more with Tyrell, I would like to view the Mr Robot scenes as him.
I understand that at least half of the premiere were scenes with Elliot, but I still felt like there wasn't enough of him. I think my absolute favorite scenes of the series was seeing his depression, loneliness, and anxiety in real life situations.
And him fighting against his mental issues was a very close second. Focusing entirely on his mental issues was obviously very important to the story of the premiere, but I fear that we won't ever truly go back to a time when his more relate-able traits are emphasized.
I really enjoyed the season 2 premiere, thought it was a pretty good catch up on events and all the characters, as well as still delivering on the mind blowing moments of the first season. The way he is trying to beat back Mr. Robot is really awesome the dynamic between the two personalities is really tense.
Only reason i realized it was Joey Bada$$ was because of them putting his name in the opening credits, the way Seinfeld is really fucking him up is hilarious. I wonder if he is going to be recurring character and what he may do, seems like he could be some type of loose cannon in Elliot's life, and he may not realize it. At least that was the vibe i got with that scene with him throwing the basketball.
Happy the show is back, and glad this can replace the hole that Game of Thrones leaves during the break.
I liked Joey's lines and the fact that he is now in Elliot's life, but that whole dynamic is really strange. They honestly meet three times a day for meals? And Elliot never talks? There is more to that story. I wouldn't be surprised if Joey's character is not real, but that would mean that Elliot is watching Seinfeld which doesn't make sense. Maybe his mom watches a lot of Seinfeld? Maybe he is remembering watching a lot of Seinfeld since he is with his mom now.
Twenty minutes into last night's episode. I'm at a loss of words for how great I find this show. It really turned in a way I did not see coming especially after the ending of last weeks episode
Initially I was annoyed with how slow this season was moving plot-wise, but then I recently found out this season will be 12 episodes and not 10. So we're only half way done now. And yes the open for the week's episode was insane in a very good way. The only opening I liked more this season was the halloween flashback in episode 4 when Elliot and Darlene first conceived the idea of the hack.
Also the FBI hack scene with Angela was tense as fuck. And that flashback ending. This show can be surprisingly touching when it wants to be. It's little moments like that that really elevate this show from good to great.
