Maybe yall will have different tags. We only had the remote lot, but it was so u organized you could probably get away w leaving it the "drop off zone" that was your camping lot.
Lyft js still fairly cheap and I believe they had good deals.
Honestly, the walk from the remote lot isn't too bad. It sucks when you are hauling all your stuff.
Not just any foil stock... That's dat gobstopper foil stock fist used by Zoltron for Primus Wonka Halloween. The artist is Michael Fuchs who is local to Austin. He did the print for Lightning Bolt last year.
You seem like the perfect person to ask.
Is there any issue rolling a print that's on foil stock? Never had one and just trying to make sure bringing a tube is fine if I pick up the Flying Lotus print.
Got a little clarification on re-entry for camping parking.
Campers are allowed to leave and return, however there is a chance your spot will be gone when you get back. It's first come, first serve, and staff and artists use the lot too.
So if it fills up, you'll have to go to the Remote lot. You won't have to pay again though.
So ya, don't think I'll be making a trip into town. Don't want to be in the Remote lot.

Yeah, that's fine as long as you don't roll it too tight. A 3" diameter tube is fine, but a 4" is better. Obviously the longer you leave a print in a tube and the tighter it's rolled, the longer it will take to flatten. Always good to take extra precautions to prevent scratching the foil too. Also, it's much easier to ding a corner on a foil stock because the paper isn't as thick. And I always bring a sheet of craft paper that's bigger than the print to roll it in so that you don't have to touch the print when removing it from the tube later. A lot of times people damage prints putting them in or taking them out of tubes.

Perfect info, exactly what I was looking for. It'll be coming out of the tube as soon as I'm home, just wanted to make sure there wasn't something weird about the foil.
Good call on the craft paper too, would have forgotten to bring some. It really does make it so much easier to take in/out.

Ok it's official...ill be camping again this year...and in one week!!! i recommend tent rentals to anyone coming from further away than most. Super nice to not have to worry about that aspect of the fest. Kind of a pretty penny and the $200 security deposit blows (less posters I'll be getting) but when it boils all down, it is a nice luxury. And you meet some cool people from all corners of the globe
I'll probably opt to camp and do the full weekend next year versus Euphoria.
These two fests (Euphoria/Levitation) have obviously done some major expansion. I really wonder if they can continue without looking for a new home. The main festival grounds itself seem well laid out with plenty of roaming room, little bleed over, east transitioning, room for vendors/art/ect. Camping is getting super tight, parking is complicated, and who knows how well the local businesses and residents are tolerating the distractions.
It is cool that these are the only two camping fests in Austin's city limits.

I'm curious the attendance difference between Euphoria and Levitation. It sounds like Euphoria has a larger attendance. Camping was never that packed last year, will see what it's like this year. Rain probably kept some away last year, but looks like we might deal with that again this year.
I do really love the layout of the fest grounds itself, too. No sound bleed, and super quick to get to all areas.
Parking is the biggest issue. If CCR wanted to really get serious about hosting future events, they should consider buying the property the camping parking lot was on last year, or some other adjacent property. They just need a little more room to accommodate everything.
I honestly wouldn't want Levitation to get much bigger. It's at a pretty perfect size right now imo. Large enough to get some amazing talent, but small enough to be relaxed and easy going.
Still wish I would have bought the Forever Pass when they were offering it. $1000, but lifetime tickets to Psych Fest/Levitation.
Currently listening to Sunn O))) and Boris's colab album and telling myself it could happen next weekend...
They've done Alter recently, too. Well, recent in my head. It was glorious.
I can only think of two US festivals that it could happen at. This is one of them. I'm holding my breath for you guys.
Damnitttttttttt, I want to be rail for Black Mountain and that requires skipping Sunn O))). But MAYBE I can go around the end of Boris's set and see if anything is happening and, if not, run back to the amphitheater
MonieEAPJUICY JAY or anyone else in Austin, check out Levitation's FB page. They need volunteers for a 6 hour shift this Tuesday. You get either a day pass for any day, a deluxe upgrade, or camping pass.
Signed up, was considering a Deluxe upgrade anyway.
Got my email that I'm working on Tuesday at the fest. Anyone other locals doing it?
The email stated there are further volunteer opportunities for more perks. Asked if there's anything that includes back stage access. Who knows, could be cool.

Edit: Nothing with backstage access, oh well.
Signed up but all the clean up crew spots were filled but they offered me a different position during the festival so i think i'm going to do that instead if it means a free wristband.
who is going this year!? I'm going to be around the area and I think I will make it. I'll probably be by myself and whoever I've met at the concerts... I'll be pretty much going to most of these shows: vagazine.com/music-festivals/levitation-2016-guide - let me know if you are going to any of those! It will be fun to meet new people and hang between concerts.

They are offering a virtual reality stream for $20
LEVITATION is proud to announce a partnership with virtual reality live-streaming company VRLIVE to stream #Levitation2016 as a 360-degree live virtual reality experience! Fans from all over the world will be able to enjoy the festival in a unique, immersive experience from the comfort of their homes via the web. For a fee of $20, viewers can stream a weekend full of shows from multiple stages at LEVITATION, including performances from Animal Collective, Courtney Barnett, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Ty Segall & The Muggers, Allah Las, Shabazz Palaces, King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard and over 30 more artists, with additional stream confirmations and a full schedule coming later in the week. STREAM TICKETS & INFO: bit.ly/1SZYea2 You can use almost any device to enjoy the stream, but we recommend you use a VR headset for the most immersive experience. You can convert your mobile device with a cardboard headset (pictured above), which can be mailed to you in time for the stream this weekend, or you can just go out and buy one – these converters are now widely available in stores! We’ve wanted to live stream the festival for years. Each year a large number of people come in from all over the world, but we know many more are unable to make the trip and experience the festival. The fact that we’ll be doing our first stream in 360 VR is unreal, we’re really excited to be able to bring Levitation to the world this weekend!

I've been thinking about buying Google Cardboard for a while and that pushed me over the edge. Ready to enjoy all of that Levitation goodness from my couch high as a kite or be disappointed that I wasted $20. We'll see.

Will be back this year at this. Unfortunately I won't be camping though like I hoped because money is tighter than I thought it'd be and I have a free place to stay.
Friday (getting there a bit late)- Twin Peaks>La Luz>Shabazz Palaces>Brian Jonestown Massacre>Oneohtrix Point Never>Nicolas Jaar>Uncle Acid>Slowdive>maybe some of FlyLo Saturday- Bayonne>Nots>Courtney Barnett>Thurston Moore Band>Black Angels>Brian Wilson>little bit of Black Mountain>Sleep Sunday- King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard>Allah-Las>Royal Trux>Ty Segall>Ween
Animal Collective vs Sleep vs Black Mountain hurts sooo bad.

The only thing I'm gonna suggest is that, on Saturday, you go check out Parquet Courts (and David J & the Gentleman if you're cool with not being real close for Courtney.) I only say cause you got nothing listed during either of those and I dig em both. Never seen David J, but I've seen Parquet Courts in some small venues and it got rowdy and I loved it, but idk how it'll be at a fest.
Also, on Sunday, unless you just REALLY wanna be close for Ween, go check out least a little bit of Super Furry Animals between Ty and Ween

Kind of lame that they are charging $20 to watch the livestream for this and its only select sets... It was bound to start happening sooner or later I suppose.

Full line-up for the live stream:
Full Lineup: Animal Collective, Courtney Barnett, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Ty Segall & the Muggers, Royal Trux, Thurston Moore Band, Black Mountain, Allah-Las, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, Parquet Courts, Shabazz Palaces, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Twin Peaks, Imarhan, Boogarins, David J & the Gentlemen Thieves, Chicano Batman, Holy Wave, Christian Bland & the Revelators, Israel Nash, Fantasmes, Magic Wands, Ultimate Painting, Nots, Bayonne, Federale, The Murlocs, Flavor Crystals, Promised Land Sound, Indrajit Banarjee & Gourisanker, Drinking Flowers, The Blind Suns, Cellar Doors
Bummed Melody's Echo Chamber isn't there, but that's more than enough for me. I'll happily pay $20 for a smaller fest to do this in 360 VR.
Also everyone should see Boogarins. Totally amazing live and on record.
So all the volunteer spots are filled up, anyone know how to sneak in? haha but really, when i went last year, it looked really easy to sneak in through the camping area.

Here is the list of DJs spinning between sets to make waiting for that sweet spot on the rail more enjoyable. Maybe Al Lover will get in there at some point.
I just read that as curated by Ed Lover and got ridiculously excited. Then I reread it.
I've made that mistake before. And I've also seen his name and thought he must be some R&B crooner in the style of Al B. Sure. He is actually a psychedelic DJ. Not bad. Nothing I'd play on the regular, but I wouldn't be fleeing a set by him either.
