Did a 6 hour volunteer shift picking up trash yesterday for a deluxe upgrade. Main stage and tent were up, and they were finishing getting all the fencing put up.
The only concerning thing was the level of the Colorado River. If you saw my snapchat, you saw it was quite high and raging. Turns out, Lake Travis is full and they're releasing water for the first time in 9 years. That's why the river was so high.
From what I can see, they were only opening the flood gates for 2 days. Looks like they're closed now, and the river is ~4' lower than when I was there. So hoping that means the amphitheater is back down on the river this year!
My tentative schedule. I don't really have many plans before 6pm most days. Just likely to wing it and see what catches me. Unless someone sees someone in the early afternoon that's a not miss, please let me know (Dave Maynar).
Friday: Boogarins > Shabazz or Golden Dawn > Oneohtrix Point Never (~45 mins) > Dungen (~30 mins) > Nicolas Jaar!!! > Uncle Acid (~30 mins between set breaks) > Flying Lotus
Saturday: Parquet Courts > ? > Courtney Barnett > Heron Oblivion (partial) > Black Angels (partial, maybe a bit of Boris instead) > Woods (at least 45 mins, maybe the full set if they're on fire) > Brian Wilson (~30 mins) > Sunn O))) (at least 10 mins just to feel the drone) > Black Mountain (30 mins, maybe a little more) > Animal Collective (maybe leave 15 mins early to catch a little more Sleep) > Sleep
Sunday: The Murlocs > ? > King Gizzard > ? > Royal Trux? > Ty Segall/Lee Scratch Perry (will see how I'm feeling, just saw Ty 2 months ago in a small club, so won't die if I miss the set) > Super Furry Animals > ? > Caribou
Saturday night is insane for me, I want to see every band playing after 7:30 pm! Sunday is definitely my lightest day.
The parking situation for campers definitely blows, it's a long haul. Just picked up a new wagon yesterday, so I'm ready for it.
Hard to believe that when I wake up tomorrow, Levitation's just a day away!

I don't recognize much of that time slot either. You should check out Twin Peaks on Friday. If nothing else, they're playing right before Boogarins at the same stage.

I was wondering about this. Especially since we got even more rain all Wednesday night. It's been pouring here like crazy. I don't think it's supposed to rain this weekend, but I haven't really looked at all.
Also, I second Twin Peaks. They're my first act of the day Friday.

For the love of God. Don't even think of missing Klaus Johann Grobe. It's a Swiss duo (performs as a trio) of Krauty goodness. If I were going they'd be situated in the 4 to 5 slot out of my top 10 (if that says anything).
Others I'd check out are Ultimate Painting and Bayonne (both Saturday) and Promise Land Sound on Sunday.
Rothric, thanks for the insights. One question concerning the parking for camping: Are they still doing the closer lot, and if so would/will it make a difference?
Twin Peaks and Klaus Johann Grobe added to the list, along with Ultimate Painting, Bayonne, and Promise Land Sound. Thanks!
Weather wise, think we're looking pretty decent. Looks like it's supposed to rain on us Friday afternoon/evening, but that might be it. Rain chances for Saturday have been dropping all week, and Sunday's clear.

Yep, still doing the closer lot for campers. Even from the closer lot, it's a bit of a hike with all the gear. The main problem, is that you have to go down and then up the banks of Carson Creek to get to the campgrounds, and the banks are fairly steep with gear. The path is paved with caliche/gravel.
The walk for campers hauling their gear in the close/remote lots will be roughly the same. Because if you have to park in the remote lot, they still allow you to drop your gear off at the close lot to haul in. You just have to go park your car in the remote lot and walk/shuttle back.
They are supposed to have people helping to haul gear, but no idea how many they'll have or how long it'll take.

TOMORROW!
Also, on Friday as well, I'd give La Luz a shot, they play the tent between twin peaks and boogarins.
Also, everyone, due to complications and a death in the family, my friend had to bail yesterday. But, I got lucky and won't have to make the drive solo because a few people I know indirectly are going and they invited me to ride with them. Because of this, I don't wanna impose my previous plans on their trip so I'm just gonna go with the flow.
But, if you see a fairly short guy (5'6") with shaggy brown hair, a green backpack, and a fucked up right hand missing his fingers, please come say, "Hey Fore!" and I will be ecstatic to meet and hang with ya!
It says they're trying to book incoming bands into venues around town, but all shows will be ticketed separately & a levitation ticket won't get you in.
Keep up w do512 yall and fff fests twitter to find those shows.
Sounds like it wasn't even their call. State officials said its too dangerous according to Levi statement. I feel bad for them. They def curated a fine tooth comb detail line up that they were proud of.
I really hope they bounce back. Ill def buy a 3 day next year.
They're issuing refunds to people, but if you bought on the secondary market (besides Stubhub), you're hosed.
I could fucking cry right now.
Did you buy secondary market?
I think Tejas and I are still hitting up local shows. I'm really fucking crossing my fingers for Brian Wilson. I know it's a bigger name, don't know where they'd put him on such short notice, but fuck man, I've looking forward to this since it was announced in like October or November. Heartbroken.
Wow. I feel awful for all you. It's bad enough to be cancelled. It's a whole other that it was done the night before.
i just realized. A lot of you were planning on camping.....
Who doesn't have a place to stay? I can help some out tonight maybe? But my place isn't huge so I def can't accommodate many and def not for the whole weekend.
I'm also going to a show tonight then the bar after, so I won't be home till late.
The clubs booking Levo artists have no affiliation with them so theyll have to charge to make $$$....but I get it. Sorry Rothric n fuzzy n everyone else.
Look out for Moody theatre, emos and austin music hall to gobble some up. Shit im sure the typical 7th n Red river clubs are booked already. Itll be pretty wild downtown this weekend

You're sweet like candy.
Speaking of such things, I hope Fore34 sees this soon before his crew gets all the way to Austin.
I almost guarantee this is simply politics. Some asshole neighbor has some friend in a high position. They've been trying to shut this venue/fest down for a few years, they might have finally hit a home run on it.
There is ZERO reason this was cancelled for weather. Events go on rain or shine all the time, tomorrow's storms aren't going to be bad at all.
The bad part, it's fucking Austin on the weekend. How many venues aren't already booked?

No, I bought mine presale from Levitation, so I'll be getting my refund. Don't know what's happening to my Deluxe Upgrade that I volunteered for the other day, I was just put on the Guest List.
