That sucks. Hate to be someone that was traveling from out of Texas for this. Hopefully y'all can see a bunch of venue shows.
Seems strange they would cancel the entire weekend, when the forecast only has a chance of severe weather on Friday and early Saturday. I'd understand moving all the Friday shows to indoor venues, but the entire weekend? Looks like the second half of the weekend might have been fine.

Exactly. This is politics. It's only a slight risk for storms even tomorrow.

I'm fucking fuming right now.

Ya, we'll see what the weather actually does. Weather doesn't cancel other fests in Austin like this.
From their website:
"Following this announcement, the festival has to evacuate the site, meaning that staff and equipment must be loaded out. This leaves us with no opportunity to continue the festival later in the weekend. Even if the weather has improved drastically on Sunday, we would be unable to produce an event at the ranch."
But seriously though, they'll figure this out. There will be some really interesting shows this weekend now from at least half of these bands. It reminds me of when ACL rained out except it hasn't even rained a drop yet.

I got into 0 shows that Sunday. Lines around every block. Luckily, Levi is between 10-15k and not 65k.

I tried to get into the Atoms For Peace show at Moody but the line was crazy long. Luckily was able to get into the Divine Fits show at Parish which ended up being the band's last show.
Part of me is selfishly glad I didn't go out on a limb to attend this year, but man does this suck! We had similar threats of severe weather last year and outside of the riverfront stage having to be moved further up the bank nothing was ever truly canceled. What a giant bag of dicks!

I saw lots of people in from overseas at the hostels. They were booking their rooms for extra nights. Hope they have a good time and get to see some of the acts they traveled for.

ugh. as im sure everyone else is im wallowing in sadness right now and trying to figure out how to salvage this weekend. literally bought my ticket today (idk why i put it off so long). actually bought it off someone but luckily they are super cool and contacted me before i even asked saying they'd refund it to me
if you did buy from stubhub i wouldnt worry too much though. i bought my acl 2013 ticket from them for the weekend it got cancelled, and after that third day got cancelled they refunded me 1/3rd of what i paid (including fees and shipping) like the next day.
im trying to decide if its worth still heading to austin tomorrow. i do have a place to stay and id definitely catch a few of the make-up shows. if the weather really is as bad as they say and it wasnt the city overreacting though then idk if its worth it. ill be looking at it tomorrow
The Moody Theater doesn't have anything booked this weekend so I'm sure they'll get some of the bigger names like Brian Wilson and Slowdive or hopefully FlyLo/Jaar and Emo's also doesn't have anything booked on Saturday and Sunday, I bet Sleep ends up there.

OPN/Nico/FlyLo would be a hell of a bill and that plus Sleep on Saturday may get me there
im really hoping they get Brian Wilson in somewhere, maybe ACL Live or something. itll hurt me to have to skip sleep though. hopefully they slightly stagger things to where i could go to more than one show

Sleep did play the Moody Theater when they came through last year
