Hey folks, wanted to send my condolences to everyone- this fest looked so fun, I was stoked for everyone attending this weekend. I hope you all are able to get into the shows you want and to have a good time at them! x
FuzzyWarbles did you end up with a King Gizz or Caribou ticket? If not, you can have my Sunday King Gizz ticket. Did you end up with anything for tonight? Uncle Acid/Dungen/NOTS/Klaus Johan Grobe show still has some tickets available.

Man, I've seen some festival cancellations and clusterfucks before, but this is the worst I've ever seen. I agree that it's gotta be politics and closed minded bullshit.
Sorry to everyone. I always wanted to go to this festival but I'm not sure I'd ever risk it after this year unless the Black Angels move it somewhere else. If the band needs a new venue you guys can come to Kansas City in 2017. We don't have a proper festival and the KCMO(not Kansas, but Missouri) officials are always looking for tourism money

Not just no, but hell no! Keep your fingers off our psych!

We actually have a psych scene here. And Travis County officials clearly don't want you there

Everything was showing sold out. I'll check Uncle Acid again. That would be nice.

Maybe they could move it to the place that hosts the Kerrville Folk Festival.
Anywhere outside of Austin city limits would be nice. What a complete fuck up.
That's the thing, I'm 90% sure they are outside the city limits. That's why the standard noise ordinances didn't apply to them that the city has (hence all the meetings from the neighbors). If Google is right, it shows the city limit literally at the border of CCR.
It's not city officials that cancelled it, rather Travis County officials.
Didn't realize CCR was outside. So yeah, something outside Travis County. Although, it's not like any of the counties are much better. Kerrville Folkfest, Head for the Hills and Art Outside are held 45 minutes out. I feel they should headout in one of those directions. Utopia is too small to hold 10k. Floatfest is also probably too small on their ranch.
Do yall think they can recover to bring this back next year? They obviously have a little more footing financially then a company that JUST runs a music fest and have their successful off shoots in other cities.
I would have much rather have this happen to Euphoria where EDM/jam fests are dime a dozen.

I assume they have insurance to cover for money loss due to being canceled because of the weather.

I remember seeing a post they put out discussing Insurance and then refunding everyone. Well, that's somewhat of a relief.
I'm curious if any guest performances will ensue at any of these shows. That was a huge thing when we had that ACL cancellation a couple years ago. Then again, that was cancelled the day of, so it's definitely less likely here. It would still be cool to see some true pop-ups here and there, though.

Arcs should have some guests show up. They said that was going to be common on their current tour.
