ATDI could be added, they don't have any dates the weekend of Levitation, which would be a great way to kick off their US leg of the reunion tour, plus Cedric said this on twitter:

Definite possibility. Especially when you consider there are no TX dates yet.
I was only joking when I said I expected Levitation to get The Mars Volta to reunite...but damn if they didn't hear me and do the best they could!
Edit: Am I supposed to be reading something into the placement of the *?
Like asterisk sorta sounds like ATX? More ATX dates to come? Ya, I know I'm reaching.
Yes, if it's only 1 then FFF is definitely more likely. But they could play both. Transmission events (who runs FFF and books most of the good shows in Austin) is now involved with Levitation. So not like they'd have to be exclusive.

I'm officially all in on this. I'm going to be meeting up with a buddy I go to 'roo with every year. We're also going with the deluxe ticket passes. This lineup, for me, is near perfect!
Started bullshitting with friends about going and looked at the lineup again and insta-purchased a ticket. Any idea when we should expect another round of additions?
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I think they usually do whatever additions they have in like February or March.
I feel like the FLips could possibly play their Soft Bulletin show here as well. That'd be one hell of a headliner if they aren't getting an amazing reunion like they did last year. The headliners just don't seem nearly as big this year as last year, that is the one aspect that this year's lineup falls short in thus far. I expect at least one headliner to be added and the FLips Soft Bulletin would be a great one, though I'd probably still wanna see the Red Rocks show

If they hadn't just headlined last year, I'd agree with you. Don't think I see them bringing them back two years in a row.
I wouldn't be shocked if a 3rd headliner is in the upcoming addition announcement, but don't think it's a given either.
This fest has never had huge headliners, but they usually do come through with a nice reunion. Caribou is the only stretch for a headliner, I think Brian Wilson and AnCo are perfect fits to HL the fest. The HL for this fest are usually in the 5-10 range for a big fest like 'roo.

I can't wait to see what gets added!
Yeah, them headlining last year is the biggest knock against them getting added. However, with them having only played Soft Bulletin 4 times before (5 if you include the upcoming Red Rocks show) I think it's a rare enough to justify bringing them back but that's largely because it's one of my favorite albums.
I know now they usually don't have big headliners but I just don't think Brian Wilson, AnCo, and Caribou are comparable to 13th floor, Flaming Lips, and Tame in terms of billing. I'll be kinda shocked if they don't add somebody above Caribou. That being said I just think, as it sits now, the headliners are the only "weak" part of the lineup and that's only because of popularity.
I personally liked last year's headliners more than this year's, but I think I like this year's undercard more. If they can add one killer headliner, I'd be psyched (pun totally intended) but it really doesn't matter because it's still arguably the best lineup in the States this year.
The current top three are pretty comparable to last year. Especially considering Caribou probably won't be in the top 3 when all is said and done. Brian Wilson > 13 floor Flaming Lips > Anco but not by much Tame Impala > Caribou
Yup. I fucked up. That's some amazing day by day action.
E: Additions in text form via Brooklyn Vegan:
Austin's Levitation Fest just announced a bunch of great additions to its 2016 lineup, including Courtney Barnett, Ween, The Arcs, Melody's Echo Chamber, plus Swiss krautrockers Klaus Johann Grobe (finally coming to North America), David J & The Gentlemen Thieves (performing Love & Rockets / Bauhaus songs), Holy Wave, Wall of Death, Nots, Christian Bland & The Revelators, Magic Wands, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Bayonne, Federale, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith.
I'm so happy Melody's Echo Chamber is being brought back! Shit though, the conflicts on Friday are already making my chest tight with anxiety
edit: how long do they usually make each band's set? And how long are headliners shows usually? Because I can find schedules from last year but they just say the start time of each band and not when they ended.

Whoa love these additions. Really pumped about this even more now.
I hate to cast shade, but I was really underwhelmed with Golden Dawn Arkestra. It was like 12 noon on a Sunday when I saw them after being out until 4 in the morning at Gesaffelstein, so it may have been fatigue. I'll give them another shot maybe. Courtney is going to be great at this fest.

At FFF? They're day set was a little tamer than the night show on Thursday. Also, I think part of their presence is being closer and more intimate, interact w the crowd and such. Being on stage w a barricade and gaurds doesn't really add to the mystique that embodies their show.
And being hungover, short of sleep and a 12pm set is rarely a formula for a moving show.

I was at the rail. It all seemed so gimmicky, like Here Come The Mummies. It may have just been too early. I did love Topaz & Mudphonic when they were a thing
