My friend is opening a show at Schuba's Thursday. They've been playing with X Ambassadors lately, so I'd assume they'd be headlining this as well, but it could also be St. Motel.
I know, great scoop.
Schuba's is pretty small, I would've thought X Ambassadors would play somewhere larger. Also, I like Tchami from the Perry's stage. Probably will be seeing Daughter instead but he'd be a fun time too.

This is probably just wishful thinking, but Wolf Parade is free Saturday and Sunday. They also were mysteriously absent from the Riot Fest Chicago lineup.
I'm planning on Bob Moses, I've never been to spy bar, hoping this one doesn't sell out too quickly. I may catch some others depending on price. Groupon has had tickets for shows in the past.
Wow glad I get to see Janes Addiction. I am only going the first two days and that was the hardest to miss. These aftershows are way better than last year
I may do TLSP on Wednesday and I'm def doing Vince Staples on Saturday. Other than that, I'm not too worried about any of the shows. Maybe Bob Moses or Frightened Rabbit on Friday.

Doubt that this will surprise folks, but I saw Future this weekend and he was pretty horrible. If you think that Kendrick gets annoying with asking which side of the crowd is more hype, then you haven't seen anything.

You can't just drop a tidbit like that in here without telling us which side of the crowd was more hype...

Haha well how this fest was set up was it had the 2 main stages right next to each other and acts would switch off. So I was on the opposite side waiting for A$AP Rocky so probably the other side. Danny Brown was also there and his set was fun, but nothing out of the ordinary of what he usually does.

I mean, you don't like Future in the first place, right?

Ok?
He's just saying if you don't like an artist in the first place, you probably aren't gonna like said artist live. I must say that I feel this would especially apply to hip hop because so much of your experience has to do with how into the show you and the crowd are and how well you know/enjoy whichever artist you're seeing.

I can see how that can be true but there have been instances of rappers that I don't like on record but are pretty good live (Tyler the Creator comes to mind). The crowd was quite into it especially the first 10 minutes when he did Karate Chop and Move that Dope, but everything else was pretty bad
I'm just glad that he remembered something I said 6 months ago and went through the hastle of finding it haha.
Officially in for Daughter Wednesday and Saint Lucia Friday. Might do Bob Moses on Thursday if we feel like going out (banking on it not selling out too), and hoping something good gets added to SmartBar/Metro Saturday night. Pretty happy with how things are turning out for my schedule, just need to make some more decisions early on most of the days.
