Tickets are on sale now. Did tickets go up $25? Or am I remembering wrong?
I thought it went up too, but can't remember for sure. The more I think about it I think tier 1 tickets were $225 last year too, but I can't remember.
I didn't buy last year, but I thought it was $200 for presale and $225 for regular. Even with the $25 increase, still totally worth it and not expensive at all.

Surprisingly Radiohead has never played this festival. I like their chances. As well as Gorillaz. And probably a classic rock act like Guns and Roses. I could also see Janet Jackson getting a slot like Lionel Richie did in 2013. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis could be likely based on their heavy touring in the winter-spring, but barely any US dates in the summer or fall. And as always there has to be an EDM act, so I think Avicii returns: he has a big album planned.

Maybe Coldplay for headliner? Since their new record comes out this december, and since they didn't have a tour for the last record, they'll be touring next year for sure.
Black Sabbath doesn't have any dates in Texas except Dallas and aren't they with Live Nation? Wouldn't be shocked if ACL Fest were their last US shows.

So... just found out that Coldplay will start their world tour in spring 2016, and they're starting in Latin America, so maybe Coldplay & Black Sabbath for headlienrs would be a good bet.

I really really want one of Radiohead, Paul, or Bruce Springsteen. If they got 2 of those 3 id go both weekends
that lineup you posted elprimo sounds very reasonable but i dont think Tool plays this fest. Everything else I could def see happening. I'm not sure what else would go in that slot. Maybe Coldplay. Or I don't think Metallica is completely out of the realm of possibility after they played Lolla this year but that would probably be too huge a lineup
maybe some more pop act that we all get surprised got bumped up. Like Macklemore or something

i agree. I put Tool just in case they read this lol. But yeah it'll probably be more like The National, Vampire Weekend, Macklemore, or some other dj. Something along those lines.
ACL is slowly dying in my opinion. They're trying too hard to mimic Coachella in pursuit of popularity instead of getting there in a unique fashion. Not to mention crowd control was a disaster this year and the overall crowd it's beginning to draw doesn't make for the environment it had when I first started attending. Ive volunteered the past couple years, but may be completely unable to go in 2016 - not sure ill mind too much, though.
Sorry to be negative I just really need to vent. Bonnaroo has become my salvation to ACL dissapointment.
Note: I will find hope in an LCD soundsystem booking and a move away from excessive EDM.

I first started to attend in 2011 and the crowd and acts have been relatively the same. They're on the top 5 largest festivals (Lolla, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Firefly) so they're going to draw massively popular acts. The crowd is around 60k. Two weekends selling out means it has nothing massive momentum going into 2016. Not to mention, they're night shows are becoming very popular with a handful of them selling out, and the others getting very close. Compliment all of that with the general massive growth of Austin, TX and you have a market that shows no signs of slowing. It surely isn't the same, "50 band, I get to stand-up front at every show" festival that it was 15 years ago, but that's just how it goes. SXSW started with 20 bands and now caters to +2000k.
With that being said, I haven't attended ACL since 2015. Many friends of mine still go and love it. The volume, to me, is too big and it is super hard to catch acts back-to-back. You'll almost never seen me with a blanket or lawn chair 100 yards back. I want to be raging at the front, the middle, or wherever it is getting funky. Hangout Fest seems to be my ceiling when it comes to capacity (25k-30k). More and more, smaller, niche festivals like Euphoria (5-10k), Psych (5-10k), Utopia (<2K) attract me. Wakarusa, I believe, hits about 15-20k and was good with me. RIP. Anyways, that's my take. ACL is here to stay and who knows where it go. 3 weekends? Doubt the city and P&R would ever go for that. Maybe a smaller spring festival?
