Question that I’m hoping hits the radar of some of our NOLA locals. Visiting your beautiful city the week after next. We’ll be staying in the Bywater right off of St. Claude. I am a member of a national health and fitness chain and they have a gym about 3/4 of a mile from where we are staying. I’m planning on walking to the gym from where we are in the mornings, and I usually go very early (2, 3 AM). Is the area I’m staying safe enough to walk to the gym at 2:30 AM, or should I just take the car?
I’m not from New Orleans. But I am from Louisiana, and you don’t walk no where at 2:30 in da morning cher.
From what I hear from everyone, Chicago is the same, and there’s plenty of places I’d feel ok walking at night. I’ll probably just take the car to be safe. I’ve been in the area once, and didn’t feel unsafe, but figured I’d ask.

You're going to work out, right? So just start your run a little early!
Hung up on the working out at 2-3 am. More power to you bud
It’s the only time that I can stay consistent. After work and in the evening didn’t work out at all. Getting up early sucks at first, but once I made it a routine, i actually like it now, so stick with it even on the days I’m not working.
I need to read up more on this but holy shit if it’s legit.
I think you have to be flexible on the dates you travel, from what I briefly read. That's the catch.
Yeah, you'd have to live a certain kind of life to make that possible. Can't book til the day before and if they are full, you'd be out of luck if you needed to be somewhere for something. If I worked 100% remote, I would consider it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I need to read up more on this but holy shit if it’s legit.
"Search & Book on flyfrontier.com the day before flight departure for domestic travel or starting 10 days before flight departure for international travel."
so it's a way for them to get people in seats for non-full flights, and in addition to the $399 earn some additional revenue from baggage fees etc. i guess it's a thing for someone who has no obligations and can just jet off to wherever whenever, but isn't that person also a person with money who probably wouldn't be looking to fly frontier? or i guess somebody with the type of highly flexible job that allows them to work from anywhere.
also:
"Your Pass will automatically renew for summer travel unless you cancel."
so if somebody does it be on the lookout for that auto-renew a year from when you signed up.

for vegas fans or anyone planning a trip there, this is one of the more insane travel videos i've seen on youtube. It's also informative and entertaining. Basically over the course of two weeks they got a room at every single hotel with an address on the strip. That's something like 33 hotels, so obviously they didn't sleep in every room, but they did enter every room, and participated in various activities in and around that hotel.
is this a great way to get a thorough review of every hotel on the strip? lol no. but it's about the best crash course introduction to the strip for normies i've seen. you get to see the inside of every base room on the strip, they lay on every bed, tell you how much it cost and on what day of the week they got it, and you get video of the inside of every hotel. the algo pushed this to me, i've never watched any of this couple's other videos, but they are quite delightful tour guides, and on sunday morning i easily watched all two hours of this straight through. Safiya also has this incredible news person voice that i liked right away.
plus i found out about activities i never knew about. there is twilight zone mini golf at bally's casino hell yeah.

Has anyone been to Costa Rica? My friend and I are sort of last minute going next month. Shoe-string/One-bag style. Open to hostels & cheap accommodations. Also interested in diving/snorkeling
So Bally's was bought by Twin River, a casino company out of RI - then took the Bally name. If Twin River (the original casino in RI) would add a mini golf course, that'd be nice.
also we are going to vegas this summer for our ten year anniversary! excited.
Have you been before? My go-to Las Vegas recommendations are the Cornish Pasty Company, Red Rock Canyon, and Penn & Teller.
yes, we honeymooned in vegas, and have been twice since then. so this will be our fourth trip out there.
Cornish Pasty Company - added to the list, this looks great. we've been to red rock and have seen penn & teller (not in vegas but still), both are great!
Heading to New York for two days to celebrate my wife’s birthday later in April. First time in NY since I was a little kid. I have two questions.
What’s the best way to get from JFK to Soho? Should I order an Uber or just grab a cab at the airport? I’m a newb to traveling without a rental car.
The biggest part of our agenda is to try as much pizza as possible. What are the must have slices?
Man, I wish Chicago’s CTA lines were as extensive as NY’s subway system. I loved how easy it was to get around. My wife and I walked 35 miles in 52 hours around the city and tried 17 of NYC’s various slices. Here’s how I ranked them.
Mama’s Too! - Angry Nonna Rubirosa - Tye Dye Rubirosa - Honey Pie Di Fara - Cheese John’s of Bleecker St. - John’s Original Patsy’s in Harlem - Cheese Scarr’s Pizza - Cheese L’Industrie Pizzeria - White Joe’s Pizza - Cheese/Pepperoni Fini Pizza - Cheese/White Keste Pizza & Vino - Regina Margherita Bleecker Street Pizza - Cheese Little Italy Pizza - Cheese Square Upside Pizza - Vodka Sam’s Famous Pizzeria - Cheese Prince St Pizza - Pepperoni Square 99¢ Delicious Pizza - Cheese
The only slices that weren’t good were Prince St and 99¢
Really wanted to hit these ones, but was unable to due to circumstances:
Lucali Totonno’s Lombardi’s Grimaldi’s Luigi’s

Primarily for 3post1jack1 but for anyone else: do you have any good restaurant recommendations for a moderately upscale Vegas restaurant for a large group? Planning for a large dinner and I don’t necessarily want to do a traditional steakhouse.

might be too silly, but Best Friend is a tremendous amount of fun and a great space. it's Roy Choi's vegas restaurant, korean/mexican fusion. vegan options if anyone is vegan. everything we ate there was delicious. the front of the restaurant looks like a bodega, but then in the back it's a big room with lots of table space suitable for a big group.
the menus look like a high school yearbook. it's a ridiculous place, not sure if the group you are booking for would vibe with that, but it'll definitely get people talking.
