Thinking I might head down to Moog Fest for the first time. Do they usually announce bigger acts after the initial announcement? The undercard is just phenomenal.
They're not really a "BIG ACT" festival. I wouldn't bank on anything bigger being revealed.
Ah, my only hope was Portishead. But this undercard holy shit. It will be worth it.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Engineer VIP: Two 3-hour synth building workshops in which participants build, modify, and keep a new, UNRELEASED Moog synth module with the Moog engineers who designed it. The workshop will take place at the pop-up Moog Factory in Durham, NC. Participants in the Engineering workshop also have VIP access for the duration of the event, May 19-22.
I can't even imagine how cool that would be.
And I see Simian Mobile Disco is on the lineup, here's to hoping Bonnaroo somehow manages to snag them while they're stateside.

Depending on how you quantify a "big act," I wouldn't be so sure.
Durham is more than alright. It is a really neat town with an increasingly heavy focus of development on arts and culture - also tonsssss of great restaurants.

Am I crazy, or doesn't SMD play in the U.S. all the time? Not like they're an act that's difficult to catch.
It always seems to be mainly the East/West coasts, Chicago, and a few more dates in between from what I've seen. FYF always gets them, but haven't ever come across them on the fests I've been to.
Edit: I think they did a DJ set at FFF a few years back? But I couldn't make it that year. I really want to see a full live set.
