@summerteeth214 based on the schedule, are there any shows that you think will hit capacity easily / would need to show up well in advance for?
Also, is Motorco Park outdoors?
A lot, actually.
Motorco Park, I'm guessing is the lot next door to Motorco. It used to be a car lot, but it's not real big. I'll be interested to see whether they use just the lot or expand it into the street (a BBQ restaurant and brewery are across the street). If they use just the lot, there won't be a ton of room.

I'm ok with it. My niece is due with twins a week after Moogfest. Knowing how this all goes down from experience, they will be a week early. On top of that, I lost my car on the drive back from Sweet Sixteen. Sadly, a new vehicle wasn't in an already tight budget. It just doesn't make a lot of sense for me to go.

Thursday The Range or Hundred Waters Floating Points Qrion Miike Snow (or stay at the Armory for UV Boi & Jlin) Ryan Hemsworth
Friday HEALTH Bob Moses Daye Jack Grimes Bicep - Rummy 500 I would say Bicep is your best alternative to Odesza. I could be wrong, but I think this is also the premier of their 'live' show Robert Hood The Black Madonna
Saturday Yo Gabba Gabba! Reggae Soundsystem Party Cognitive DJ Battle [YACHT v IBM Watson] Quintron & Miss Pussycat Made of Oak Empress of Ben Frost The Orb Oneohtrix Point Never Explosions in the Sky
Major schedule change: Sunn O))) are now at Motorco Park at 9:15 pm on Saturday (they were originally in Carolina Theater around 7). Going to be interesting seeing them outside. Also, they conflict with Ben Frost now.
Haven't looked to see if there are any other changes.
As someone who currently lives in Durham and grew up in the triangle area, I'm actually quite confused about how these Motorco showroom vs Motorco shows are going to work. I know the indoor space well but I'm not sure where they're putting these bigger acts outside...and how they're going to keep random stragglers (non ticket holders) from just showing up for all those sets.

My guess is they are going to put up a stage in the parking lot/what used to be the sales lot. Fence it off. Room-wise, that's not a lot of space, though, esp. for a headliner stage. They're going to have to block part of the street off in order to have enough room.
What I don't understand is how they have acts scheduled past 11 PM outside. I thought 11 was the cutoff time for outdoor shows in this area. That lot is also right next to a neighborhood. Don't really see how you're going to have an outdoor Miike Snow show from 11:30 PM to 1:00 AM on a Thursday with residential areas so close.
Also, I am guessing either Sunn O)))'s set gets cut short due to noise complaints from half the city or they won't be able to play as loud as they should. I really want to see them, but I also would just assume go see Ben Frost in a venue that fits and not have to worry about it being a sub-par show due to poor scheduling.

Hmm yeah I guess that's the most logical proposal. Just seems like an odd space to pick for the headliners.
The noise complaint thing is a very real possibility. I mean motorco isn't *precisely* in a neighborhood but certainly within a couple blocks of some.
And.... I almost want to be there for the first part of Sunn, standing on the perimeter, just to watch the passers by reactions.

Can anyone confirm on what Motorco Music Hall is like?
Considering heading down to Durham tonight after work for Bob Moses to Grimes to Odesza to Black Madonna. The venue for the first 3 is turning me off though, may just stay here in Richmond for Keller Williams and G-Love (since Dominion Riverrock is free this weekend).
First Hangout fell through due to work, then Shaky Beats...trying to come up with the best plan C.
