Oh man. Phi's pic makes quite pissed about ticketmaster fucking me on the floor ticket I originally had but they screwed me on. But, I've been to a show at this venue before and even the seats that are "far away" are quite close and in the center section so I should have a great view. I'm a bit nervous, for obvious reasons, but I can not wait for the show because everything I've heard about the Nashville show is my friends drooling over how amazing TOOL was... Only four more days!
Sometimes things work out in those seats. I saw NIN in Knoxville, and I got floor seats especially because of the seats opposite of the stage being kind of far back. Shortly after the show started, both my friend and I realized that we had fucked up as those seats would have been great in order to take in the whole of what was going on with the visuals for the show.
Exactly this. Big production shows like NIN and Tool often benefit from seats a little further back, so you can take in the whole spectacle.
Not to say front row at Tool isn't a powerful experience either, because it very much is. Just different.
That's why Tool back at Bonnaroo would get me there with just about any lineup.
Tool from the What pit...may God have mercy on my brain.
And Fore, in your state I think the seats far back will be perfect.

Yep. One of the negatives (as well as being one of the positives) of VIP Waka is that you get rail. In 2014 while watching EOTO do a crazy main stage light show on the screens because we were too close to see all the lights, it hit me. Umphrey's was next up, and I had just seen their new light show and got everyone to agree to go back into middle of the crowd to watch that set rather than standing at the stage watching that crazy light show on the broadcast screens.
Holy shit you guys, I can't sleep at all. That was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I know, right?
Fav song of the night? And I forget, first time seeing Tool or not?
Yep first time seeing them, and its been a long time coming, I've had several chances to see them and it just never worked out.
No Quarter > The Grudge was so perfect, those are basically my two favorite Tool songs so I could've walked out satisfied after the 1st two songs, but honestly the visuals and solo during Jambi were my favorite part of the set.
And they also played Vicarious and Stinkfist in the encore, which I don't think they had been doing. And my seats ended up be a lot closer than I orignally thought they were.
^^ I hope you meant to say that No Quarter is one of your fav Led Zeppelin songs
Nope. I think Tool's version is one of the best things that Tool has ever done. Zeppelin's original might not even make it into my top 10 Zeppelin songs, although Zep's version is still really great. I consider it one of those covers that actually improves on the original.

i had a dream last night that i was at the baseball all star game and i bought tickets on stubhub and left to go to tool. i got there and once i got far enough down to my seats i couldn't see the stage. i'm not sure if that counts as a nightmare or a good dream. i went to tool, but then i couldn't see. it was weird. i want to see tool so bad again (for like the 4th time or something), that i just wanna hear them, so i dream about it.

There are some $30 range tickets available. You can drive from Minnesota to Pensacola in time for the show Saturday. And you will be able to see it though you might not be able to wear only underwear often associated with said dream. Also, it's only a 19 hour 12 minute drive per Google so you could technically leave Friday night and still get there in plenty of time.
Doesn't look like I'll be getting to see Tool. Tickets prices on StubHub just keep going up. In other news, I was in the arena that they're playing in today for a Career Expo, and it just seemed funny to me how in a 24 hour time span the place will go from a bunch of professionals wearing suits and shaking hands to Maynard doing whatever the fuck he'll be up to.
I still want to know what the heck Maynard is wearing. There's a selfie of his nitely costume on Facebook (through Rolling Stone I believe), and I just do not understand it's significance.
The "new" tour poster is pretty sweet...just wish SA, TX would have had an opportunity for those prints...oh well, I'm happy with mine.
jackwagon, have patience, my friend. I waited until two hours before showtime, and the right ticket at the right price appeared on Stubhub. Scalpers have to try to at least break even. Just out wait the scalpers and a ticket that you find agreeable will show up!

I'm very tempted to just go stand outside the arena too, maybe I'll get lucky.

Absolutely go stand outside the venue, and just keep checking Stubhub on your phone. Cover two different markets at once.
Someone will have an extra ticket because a friend bailed or some other reason.
I don't know what to tell you except be patient and DO NOT MISS THE SHOW!

They got down to just above face on Stub Hub in Atlanta. ...i followed it until i got in the car to drive up which was a few minutes before doors....they went off line after doors.
Saw Primus and Tool in Atlanta with my three friends and they melted our minds. One of the best shows I've ever seen hands down, sound and especially the visuals were amazing, especially on three tabs. Drunk dude in the merch line bought me and my friend a shirt for free cause he barely spilled beer on us (told him he didn't have to but he insisted). Got a poster as well since I didn't have to spend money on a shirt, also my friend got a signed vintage poster. Best night ever!

I was told by a friend that it was full on swat gear and its because he's "the leader of the tool army."
Take it for what you will.
When he came out I thought he was dressed as a ninja or something.
