It's not that bad for Bunbury considering the sliding scale for 2017. I mean, how many of those names are worse than the corresponding Bonnaroo ones? Admit it - you're reading it and thinking gosh, I'd be kind of okay seeing Tech 9ne at the farm!
Clearly Muse isn't cheap...interested to see 30 Seconds to Mars on here, saw them at Voodoo a few years back and they were surpisingly good, Jared Leto can actually sing.

I don't think I've ever heard a G Easy song in my entire life...how is this guy billed #3? Also Wiz at #2 hahaha am I really this out of the loop or is this billing totally bizarre?
Honestly though if I lived close by I would totally go, at least for one day. Death Cab is one of my all time favorite bands, plus I'm a sucker for radio rock (Muse, 30STM, The 1975, AFI).

I'm happy to see some different names than weve been getting all over the place. They aren't names I personally get excited over but not God awful either.

I have no idea who Alex Angelo is related to but I don't like that he keeps getting booked. I saw him a couple years ago waiting for Royal Blood and it was bad.
In fact, you can see me multiple times in this video, front and center, clearly not enjoying the show. I'm in full Stars and Stripes with a tank top.

i would be enjoying it even less.

Really curious how 30 Seconds To Mars is billed 7th. Aren't they pretty damn big in the rock/alt genre?
Their last big tour was co-headlining with Linkin Park, so you'd think so... but they are nowhere near as big in the USA as they are all across Europe.

That might be the weakest lineup of any festival ever. 1975? 30 seconds to Mars? Wiz and Geazy as 2 and 3? I mean I never planned on going to Cincinnati but woof
2015 | Fleetwood Mac, Father John Misty, Bleachers, Wussy, Walk the Moon (x2), The Black Keys, Kacey Musgraves, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers, Shakey Graves, twenty one pilots (unfortunately), The Front Bottoms, Snoop Dogg, The Rolling Stones, Future Islands, alt-J, Courtney Barnett, The Gaslight Anthem, Com Truise, Girl Talk, Run the Jewels, Modest Mouse, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Broods, Brandon Flowers, Sam Smith, Goo Goo Dolls

Can someone explain to me how Wiz Khalifa is billed 2nd at Bunbury and 8th at Gov Ball, but Death Cab is billed 8th at Bunbury and was billed 6th at Gov Ball last year?

Update: I watched it again and I don't know if it has to do with the lighting, but it never looks like his computer is actually on.
Maybe I don't know too much about Bunbury but isn't Muse a HUGE get for this festival? Your talking about a band who is Coachella, Roo, Lolla big.
Yup, the site only holds 20,000 people. But since new management took over the lineups have been small and very top-heavy. They got The Black Keys in 2015, The Killers and Florence & The Machine last year.

Omg. That's fucking hysterical. You look the exact same in every shot almost, like "Oh god, how much longer is this guy on?"
Also, yea, this line up isn't good. And to whoever said the billing is totally out of whack I noticed that too. It's almost like they tried to throw in bigger names further along to make it seem like they're are more notable bands on the line up. Like sure, G Eazy is number two, but we have Death Cab AND The Shins!
Wow, that is one bad lineup and the order on the poster is a bit head scratching. It doesn't help that I am not a Muse fan and it looks like they blew a big chunk of their budget on that booking. Living in Cinci, I have been to every Bunbury since its start. Its likely this will be the first one that I miss. I guess if the schedule drops with the right combination of artists on a single day I might buy a 1 day pass and check it out in order to keep my streak going but that is going to take some convincing.
2017: 2/24 Twenty One Pilots 4/1 Radiohead 6/7 Glass Animals 9/10 Modest Mouse 9/21 Arcade Fire 9/29 Kings of Leon 10/3 Foster the People 10/17 The xx 10/22 LCD Soundsystem 11/8 Bon Iver
I'm 20 min away and I wanted this to be better. Hopefully some combination of Muse, death cab, moon taxi, AFI and thirty seconds to mars are on the same day so I can just buy a day pass if I don't head to Philly for Dave and Tim

I get that this message board basically hates any mainstream name but as far as live rap goes, I enjoy G-Eazy (and not just because he's from my hometown). His production has grown with him as he's jumped from playing theaters to arenas, he actually raps every word instead of letting the track do the work for him. He also has enough material to carry a headlining set and will probably bring out special guests since he's topping the bill.
Surely Muse cost a lot of money and that's why the rest of the lineup drops off.
I don't love this lineup but it does have some names that aren't elsewhere, and that's really all you can ask for from a second or third-tier festival is that they bring a different flavor to it. That's what made Shaky Knees stand out the last few years and why their lineup was disappointing this year.
I still think Sasquatch has the worst lineup so far this year.

If there was a single day that had Muse, Bassnectar, the Shins, AFI, Flogging Molly, Mutemath and Rev. Horton Heat... I could spend a day at this. But holy shit, the rest is bad. Bunbury has been on my radar for a while but it doesn't look like 2017 is the year.
