I need to admit I haven't the slightest idea what is going on with these emoji clues. Like, both clues could be any band that has ever performed music as far as I can tell.

Holy Crap I hope it's the Killers and them playing Forecastle means they'll also be at Sloss Fest in Birmingham!!!! The same weekend, and the two tests shared like 8 bands last year...Here's hoping!
i'm confused. i've been kinda following this since a decent amount of my friends want to go and i might end up tagging along. i was under the impression that the top 4 right now are the headliners? wouldn't adding the killers be like adding an act that is a whole tier above what they have now?

No other fest has Death Cab or Alabama Shakes as a Marquee headliner...maybe Forecastle released their lineup as a little taste and held back bigger names to drive later ticket sales? Not too terribly logical, but not totally illogical either...

Avett Brothers and Alabama Shakes should be 2 of the 3 headliners and Ryan Adams & Death Cab 2 of 3 subs. The Killers or someone else should be added for a 3rd headliner, and The Arcs would make the 3rd sub. That would round out the top 6 nicely, but I think we're missing a jam band on the top 2 lines. Look forward to Tuesday additions..

I noticed the new website now has Death Cab billed above Ryan Adams, the originally lineup release had Ryan Adams third. That makes me think that maybe Death Cab is the Replacements/Modest Mouse act from past years and we are missing a headliner. Tuesday should be interesting considered there are almost 20 bands missing from the lineup.

A guy at nachbar told us a month ago that Brian Wilson doing Pet Sounds had been booked and I noticed that was booked for primavera sound so that rumor has some legs to it now.

I saw the reasoning for this one. I don't know what is going on with the clues but there is definitely something going on there. Great addition for me.

Given his tour dates released this morning, I would say this looks like it's happening

If fits in with the put me to sleep motif that the festival has seemed to lean towards over the past 2 years but I'm really wanting to see this one so I hope it pans out and I won't bitch to much about it.

I would agree with the "put me to sleep" item but Forecastle does always seem to add in some decent non-headliner rock-esque acts that turn up the noise:
2015:JEFF the Brotherhood, DP, Twin Peaks, King Tuff 2014:Reignwolf, The Replacements, Against Me!, Black Lips 2013: Don't really remember much from this year 2012: Sleigh Bells, Cloud Nothings, Clutch (this year was really strong for EDM - Girl Talk, Bassnectar, FlyLo)
