I enjoyed the show a good deal. He's a fun time and the front part of the crowd at least was pretty hyped. To the best of my knowledge of his songs, he did not play any new songs. I know for a fact he didn't play When It Rain and he never introduced anything as a new song. I, for one, thought that was pretty weird since the album release is soon, right?
Yeah, I don't know the exact date but I think it's supposed to be pretty soon. Dang, he didn't even play When It rain that's kind of disappointing. I'm just getting really excited to see him at Lolla and I saw you were going to see him, while my other friends at Forecastle did not.
You might get something at Lolla. You never know, but I wouldn't count on it. It just was a surprising setlist for me. Sylvan Esso, on the contrary, played like 4-5 new songs in the course of their set.

Bubblehouse, funny you thought Sunday was the weakest day. For us, it was the most filling of three seeing as we saw our favorite acts and did the most stuff we had done all weekend. Totally agree about Abrams as he was a lot of fun. Kind of like a shortened Superjam of sorts with a lot of great talent from the area. Does anyone remember who that was singing "Baby's On Fire"? I was biting my tongue trying to not just burst out laughing at the combo of how out of tune his vocals were and his hilarious insistence on utilizing just the one dance move with his head bopping side to side over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
All the days were fairly equal for me as they really had no one I was dying to see other than Femi Kuti. I was referring more to the fact that Sunday seemed fairly empty as far as the crowd went. Maybe everyone was just more spread out or some people stayed in to later to avoid the heat. Either way they said attendance was up this year. The local papers seem to credit this to the "safe" line up of people that draw well in this region. This does not fair well for me with future line ups if they keep that model. It sounded like they will continue to try and book the bands that are involved in the WFPK circle jerk if you will.
