Gotcha - with commercial peak I was thinking of "band that got a bunch of hype/attention/popularity and then faded with each subsequent album/release".
I received a single sheet PDF for the three days. My best guess is that if they're using a single ticket for multiple days, we'll be getting a wristband intended to be worn for 2-3 days straight.
This raises a couple of issues, though, beyond the obvious discomfort in sleeping and showering in a wristband for multiple days.
It's now going to be impossible to sell or give away your ticket for one of the days. YMMV, but there's no one I want to see on Friday night and was thinking of selling that ticket. Which, apparently, I can't do now.
I don't even think I'll be allowed to just blow off the night and show up on Saturday. If you walk up to the gate for the first time on Saturday with a three-day ticket, will they be allowed to give you a two-day wristband? Or do I have to travel downtown on Friday night just to pick up the wristband, turn around, and leave?

Watching the recording right now of Sufjan's amazing set at Coachella, and how the fuck is he not closing a stage at Boston Calling to maximize evening darkness? His show won't have the same effect with mostly daylight.

You're not gonna get much sympathy about this on the board of a festival where you wear a wristband through a dirty hellscape for 4 days and do god knows what while wearing it. Having a wristband for 3 days of a city fest ain't nothing.

I'm not sure what obvious discomfort he is talking about. A tan line?

Yeah Tame Impala was underwhelming, the chilly weather and talkative crowd didn't do them any favors. Whereas the band killed it at GovBall a couple weeks later in the late afternoon during the sunshine. Surprised they haven't announced a Pavilion/Agganis Arena this summer in town.
I gotta say im a little pissed that I won't be able to sell one or two days of my three day pass. I work weekends so I'm usually not able to make it to all three days. Now I'll have to actually take those days off which I was not planning on doing.

What day are you looking to move?
Probably saturday, but I'm not sure how it would work if we're getting a 3 day wrist band.
Can't help wondering whether single ticket/wristband for 2 and 3 day passes is an attempt to keep people from selling single day tickets, possibly at a discount, leaving people with no alternative than to buy directly from Boston Calling.

I can't see any other reason. I would buy a 3 day pass at early bird price knowing I could sell the single days for less than single day face and still come out on top (by like $5 or $10). If I was a shady person I could have bought multiple 3 day early birds and then undercut Boston Calling on craigslist while still making a small profit.

Remember, this is the first year the festival is using Eventbrite in lieu of Ticketmaster. The latter always provides multiple day tickets when you buy a weekend pass for a festival (such as with Newport Folk and Made in America).

Any suggestions for tickets for Friday of BC? Think resells will get as cheap as they usually do a day or two out? Last year I bought Friday tickets (Sharon Von Etten, goddam TAME IMPALA and Beck) for face value, but some friends grabbed them on stubhub for $20 shortly before. Which slightly annoyed me because 1) I could have gotten mine for less 2) people seriously undervalued this lineup. Are you quacking kidding me? Tame Impala and Beck back to back? It was a dream.

I don't know how many Friday tickets will be on the resale market this time. Because of the new ticketing procedures, 3-day pass people can't sell off their Friday night ticket, because they've only got a single 3-day ticket & wristband now.
Individual Friday tickets didn't go on sale until after they announced the Friday night lineup, so you've got to figure that anyone who bought Friday night only did that because they wanted to see that lineup or some of it.

Given that this year there are no individual tickets with the three day passes, who knows? I doubt it'll sell out though. Don't think the strong Coachella word-of-mouth about Sia and Sufjan will result in significant additional ticket sales. I would also take a shot at all the ticket giveaways that occur. That worked for me for the past few years.

I got my Friday ticket for 35 off a Groupon wannabe. For Tame Impala and Beck, I thought that was a steal.
I was hoping Sunday this year could go below 50 bucks.
This looks pretty awesome, lots of great brewers that are not usually available in Boston. I love the Barr Brothers, but I'm actually more excited that my friend's band Vundabar is playing!
Usually at least one. Some shows are labeled aftershows even if the band isn't playing the fest. I remember last May Run The Jewels played The Sinclair and Bo Ningen played Great Scott (though they unfortunately didn't play the fest). Digitalism might fall into the latter unofficial category as they have a late starting show at the Sinclair that Saturday night.
Though now that I think about it I'm not sure if September's fest had any. I guess its up in the air at the moment.
