Isn't this the fest that doesn't pit acts against each other so there are no conflicts, or am I thinking of something else?
That's been the setup in previous Boston Callings. Two stages with alternating sets, no overlap. Looks like they have three stages this year so I'm expecting conflicts, but hopefully a similar scheduling format with the red & blue stages.
There isn't a single act I'm thrilled about, but there are half-a-dozen I'm happy-to-very happy about and another dozen I'm curious about, which is what you want from a festival lineup. There are a whole bunch of acts listed whom I thought about getting tickets to see, but ultimately weren't a high enough priority for me, and that's the sweet spot for a festival lineup. You're going to see your top dozen favorite artists when they headline in your town, anyway.
Nobody's saying that Blue Hills Pavilion is limiting its lineup to the likes of Foreigner and Chicago. I'm expecting the announcement of a Wilco date after Solid Sound has sold out or taken place, definitely expecting Ryan Adams to play there or elsewhere in town this summer, and so forth.
I do feel completely trolled by Margo Price, however. 😬
