Thursday - Red Sox Friday and Saturday - Festival Sunday - Boozing at historical sites
It's so damn beautiful I might cry.
Why no Sunday?
Neither one of us is into Tool, and the large majority of the under card we want to see is on Friday/Saturday.
We're kind of making it a trip to Boston with the festival thrown in on the side. We're using Thursday and Sunday to get in and see everything we want to see, go to the beach, just be tourists in general. We've never been to the area and we want a couple of days to take it in and no be confined to running around in a rush before the festival starts.
But I do appreciate the fact that you want to see my pretty face each day, LD
Friday: Chance Blue/Bon Iver Red/SR right before Chance...? (They wouldn't do the 3rd stage if it's gonna be smaller ya?)
Sat: MUMFORD Blue, XX red, 1975 right before Mumford?
Sun: Tool Blue, ML red, Weezer pre tool?
God I hope so. I'll be really disappointed if Bon Iver and Sigur Ros clash. Plus I do like Chance (although not as much as a few years ago) so I had wanted to see him again too

I'm more worried about Solange clashing with Sigur Ros.
I could see Solange closing the third stage right before Chance, with Bon subbing for Chance and Sigur Ros in between the two of them.
Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think whoever said Bon closes a stage is right.
Sigur Ros > Bon Iver> Chance alternating with Solange during Bon Iver. I guess it depends on how big this third stage is and if it would be more suited to a smaller rock act during Chance. BC has never been afraid to lead in headliners with weird subs (Spoon into Nas/The Roots sticks out in my memory as random and awesome).

I think what I'm forced to hope for is for them to put Sigur Ros on the third stage only conflicting with Chance, like how Gov Ball does with their headliners. Chance is the most missable of that top 4 for me, and is also everywhere this summer, so I'll probably get another opportunity to see him if I want. It also ensures that Sigur Ros are on in the dark, because a daytime set from them would be kind of a waste.
Also, just for the record, it was The Replacements into Nas/The Roots, which is even more random and awesome
I'm thinking Solange sub for Chance with Bon Iver in between. Sigur Ros conflicts with the first half of Chance. I think Bon Iver and Chance represent much bigger draws, so they'll probably assume they'd like for them to alternate. Ros will reach a lesser audience so they'll throw them on the green while Chance takes the main draw. That would be the way I'd personally diagram it out if I were them.
Saturday's a little bit more out there. I guess I'd think they'd have the 1975 on the green during Mumford? With the XX playing right before MS. Idk though, I guess if you're looking at popularity the 1975 and the XX are probably pretty similar.

Yeah, the 1975 much younger crowd tho lol I'm bias I want them before mumford but idk if that works

That's what I'm thinking. Obviously, I'd much prefer the XX to go right into Mumford, but the 1975 will be crawling with people, I'm sure.

I could see that too, good point about their light show.
Meant the same stage since The Mats closed a side stage, but yeah weird/awesome either way. Main stage was 21 Pilots > Spoon > Nas/The Roots, and I remember a dude up front, in a Nas shirt with headphones in, looking totally miserable during 21 Pilots. I felt for him but neither of us needed to camp for Spoon or Nas lol

Ahh this is why I keep getting confused when you guys say "sub." To me, the stage setup at BC means that the "sub-headliner" is whoever plays immediately before the headliner, because you can watch every set and every artist is billed higher than the one who plays before them, so that artist has always been the one billed directly below the headliner on the lineup. I guess you guys have meant playing the same stage as the headliner.
Here's my preliminary attempt. I just kind of fucked around with the third stage schedule. On Saturday I tried to set it up so Mumford/xx/1975 would all be on the main stages. Personally I think they did a kind of shitty job setting up this lineup. Obviously not all their fault, but each day definitely has a kind of distinct flavor (Friday = critical darlings, Saturday = indie pop, Sunday = heavier rock) and now that there are conflicting sets it means there's bound to be some bad scheduling.
is chance, bon iver, and sigur ros conflicting in some fashion a given, or is there some hope that it might not happen?
I think it's between Sigur Ros and Solange to close the third stage, thus conflicting with Chance and/or Bon Iver. It depends how they want to schedule it. To me, if that slot conflicts more with Bon Iver it should go to Solange, but if it conflicts with Chance more, then it should go to Sigur Ros

Was considering switching either RTJ and Flatbush or WP and Frightened Rabbit for that exact reason, but RTJ and FR both seem like artists that will be on the main stages
